@Cointelegraph The wildest part is in Anthropic's own write-up: Claude learned the state's public dashboard hands an access token to any visitor, grabbed one and skipped the fee. Nobody asked it to. Anthropic says it told Georgia and the White House weeks ago.
@elonmusk That clears the booster side. Ship 42 still needs its own static fire, and the FAA license for catching both stages isn't out yet. If it all lines up, Flight 15 is the first-ever attempt to catch the ship itself.
Brazil got repriced tonight, before Sรฃo Paulo opens.
Lula narrowly won the runoff. In thin overnight US trading:
$EWZ -17% to -19%
$PBR -12%
$ITUB -14%
$VALE -4%
BRL futures fell ~9%.
Thin liquidity exaggerates. Monday's open is the real test.

@gurgavin Nice bounce, but this week is loaded. Fed decision Wednesday, $MSFT and $GOOGL after the close that same day, $AMZN Thursday. Nasdaq is coming off two straight weekly losses, so capex guidance probably decides where this goes.
@unusual_whales That gap makes sense with the 30-year still at 7.32% (Freddie Mac, Oct 22) vs 6.19% a year ago. Plenty of people want to sell, very few can swing the payment.
Musk says SpaceX closed $40B in debt to buy GPUs.
The scary part: he says debt markets have "almost entirely shut off" money for anyone without real revenue outside AI data centers. His call: most of the 200+ neoclouds fold or merge.

@charliebilello Wild part: France now pays more to borrow than Italy. The French 10-year touched 5.14% Thursday vs Italy around 4.6%, and its gap over Germany hit ~178 bps, the widest since Nov 2011.
@Barchart Q2 was a record for a second quarter: 289 tonnes bought, per the World Gold Council. Poland leads 2026 with 98t through August, and China just logged its 22nd straight month of buying.
Goldman cut its Korea KOSPI target 25%, to 9,000 from 12,000.
They still like it. The index is ~5,550, down 35%+ since June, at ~4x forward earnings, the cheapest major market since 2006.
Chips are priced for a 65% profit drop next year.

@MarioNawfal The scale explains the anger. Dominion now has ~54 GW of data center capacity under contract in Virginia, up from 16.5 GW in July 2023. Its entire Virginia system peaked just under 20 GW this summer. $D
@business 16 years ago this week, Steve Jobs said a touch screen on a laptop "doesn't work" because "your arm wants to fall off." His verdict: "ergonomically terrible." Now it's coming to the MacBook Pro. $AAPL
OpenAI is buying customers from Anthropic with price cuts. And it's working.
Rippling's coding work since May:
Anthropic 57% to 18%
OpenAI 16% to 52%
Replit reportedly got 30%+ off a $100M/yr deal.
Bad timing right before an IPO.

@StockMKTNewz That money went in during a week the S&P 500 fell 0.5% and logged its second straight weekly loss, with Brent at a 6-month high. Dip buyers clearly aren't scared yet. $SPY
@KobeissiLetter The timing lines up with the chip tape. On Thursday alone Micron fell ~6% and the Philly chip index dropped 6.7%, its worst day since June. It's now 26%+ below its June record. $MU
Next week is loaded:
Wed 2 PM ET: Fed decision (hold expected, December hike talk)
Wed after close: Microsoft and Alphabet
Thu 8:30 AM: Q3 GDP
Thu after close: Amazon
My bet: Big Tech's spending guidance moves stocks more than the rate call does.

Rough week to own a chip stock. Great week to own an oil well.
S&P 500 -0.5% to 7,623.68
Nasdaq -0.7% to 25,955.34
Dow +0.4% to 52,215.16, its 3rd straight weekly gain

Bonds were the hiding spot. The 10-year yield had its biggest one-day drop in nearly 4 years on Thursday and finished the week near 4.99%, down 0.11 pt.
Mortgage rates eased a bit too: Freddie Mac's 30-year average is 7.32%, from 7.40% a week earlier. $TLT
