Join me in my fight against harassment and related misconduct in French academic settings. Citing all current authors and contributors to the text. Thank you, Columbia Univeristy, for your time. I review the decisions and actions of 11/21/24 unfavorably.
The new spring 2026 course you published instead has been reported to the Title IX Office. You, Imane Terhmina, sexually harass victim and teach sexual harassment. This is very clearly outlined in the New York State Prevention Training. Again, I don’t want you to sexually harass.
We sent a letter urging South Florida State College to reinstate Professor Vinita Prabhakar, who was terminated after she assigned an award-winning short story in her Freshman English II course.
Prabhakar had used Ottessa Moshfegh’s “Bettering Myself” for nearly a decade to teach narrative voice and characterization. After one student expressed discomfort, College President Fred Hawkins overrode the support of Prabhakar’s department chair, dean, and vice president and ordered her to stop teaching the story. She was then fired.
Our letter calls this out as a violation of the college's First Amendment obligations and its own policies. It concludes: "These types of egregious actions break the college’s own stated commitment to academic freedom and send a chilling message to other members of the faculty who must discuss difficult and controversial material as part of their teaching duties.”

I reviewed this case stringently at Columbia University in winter 2024 among the field’s experts. Our aim is to condemn this behavior. Same issue at hand in 2026. Same victim. Same Professors. Why is this taught to brilliant Cornellians in academic settings? Why is it tolerated?
The Professor teaching this material should stop immediately. Why is this appropriate academic or pedogocial material to circulate to members of the community or students while on “tenure-track, if it involves textbook definitions of sexual harassment?

Ithaca officials passed a moratorium that temporarily suspends special event permits for Cornell University following a lawsuit alleging a former student was drugged and gang-raped by seven fraternity members in 2024.
The city also called on Cornell to turn over investigations of violent sex crimes to local police, citing concerns about campus safety and the university’s handling of sexual assault allegations. The moratorium is set to expire Nov. 5 but can be renewed.

@WSJ Wonderful. You absolutely must have consent. I’ve described what nonconsensual looks like in my initial report. Always explicitly ask for consent. Ask the question. « Do I have your consent? ». You do not have my consent. It’s nonconsensual. It was never stated otherwise.
Students at Cornell University staged a seven-hour sit-in on Wednesday in solidarity with "Jane Doe," the former student who alleges she was drugged and raped by multiple members of a fraternity on its Ithaca, N.Y., campus in October 2024. https://t.co/14RX910EPp
Cornell University's Faculty Senate will put forth a vote of no-confidence in late October. The resolution as drafted states that the Senate “has no confidence in the ability of the central administration to effectively address the ongoing crisis of sexual assault.” https://t.co/vtMZ3sqCzN
Cornell University, you amaze me. I am so proud to be a Cornellian today. Following the news of last weeks, I’m sharing a letter to you reflecting on my initial impressions. I will continue to share my thoughts and opinions on my Twitter. I will share all the resources I can. Ty!
