Some guy named Nick Bilton serving an audience of 1 (Bari) service an audience of 1 (Ellison) serving an audience of 1 (Trump). This is how oligarch-authoritarian takeover of media happens
Catholic Query
Season 4 of Succession -- Memorial service of Logan Roy...St. Ignatius Loyola on Park Avenue...Catholic Church...Three (and one aborted) eulogies...Cardinal and many priests in attendance...No funeral mass.
Is this something that can actually happen?
As one of my grad school professors rightly noted, there is an inverse relationship between the difficulty of your degree and the demand that you be called “Doctor.”

News: Sen. Dan Sullivan is threatening legal action against the other Dan Sullivan running for Senate, accusing him of being a plant for Schumer and Mary Peltola
“They all orchestrated this on purpose to confuse Alaskans.. these guys are purposely trying to trick my constituents to rig, and I don't use that lightly, rig an election in favor of my opponent.”
The ending of DUNKIRK (2017) is underrated. Tom Hardy’s Farrier choosing to stay in the fight even after knowing he doesn’t have enough fuel to make it home, then calmly setting his Spitfire on fire after landing, is one of Nolan’s most heroic moments.
It’s true. You can say no at any time.
But as with the debate over cell phones, it doesn’t take into account the community / cultural race to the bottom. If all other parents are doing it, you feel obligated to do it.
Predatory? Youth sports is *nuts* but let's not infantilize everyone. The dirty secret is that it is fun to say your kid is on "x" team, to get to know the other parents, to travel with your kid to tournaments and to watch them play. But you can say "no" at any time.
@SeanTrende The policy question is to what extent the state can or should support parents. In this case probably not much…simply moral suasion.
The philosophical question is why is this happening. Does it actually make any sense, and if not why is everyone doing it?
We talked to nearly 100 people about youth sports in New Jersey and found a predatory industry that is leaving parents broke, exhausted and wondering how the games of their childhood took over their adult lives. Our six-month investigation: https://t.co/plE3w618qt
Given Paxton's cheating on his wife, indictments and letting off a pedophile, how do People who call themselves Christian vote for him over a seminarian? Honest question.
A vote for Paxton is making faith a lie.
I want to thank Senator John Cornyn for his years representing our state.
We don’t agree on everything, but we both still believe in public service.
To Senator Cornyn’s supporters: you have a place in our campaign.
