@lionheartaxe0 No no, I mean this won't be a simple re-release, its a chance to actually fix some of the problems during development that the 3D remasters could not.
Im saying in comparison to something like the remasters. Apologies
Even if you reject Bananza whole heartedly, which is dumb if you wanted Odyssey 2, what abouy Bowsers Fury after Odyssey? Wonder? What about other games like MK, Brothership, Rabbids Expansion, New Aces, etc.
Thats like saying theres no new Zelda cause its not Skyward Sword 2.
@twilightzeIda What criticisms are there of OoT Zelda??? She's the only character who does anything whose name isn't whatever I entered when I made the file
Flat Texture rooms/towns, cut content galore, last minute quest swaps, dead items (Ice Arrows, Naryu's Love), 2 required time swaps in the entire game (1 excluding lens), and despite a really great final boss a very lacking final dungeon.
There is absolutely room to improve here
My ultimate take on OoTR is that while the og is a wonderful game we cannot ignore the chaotic development cycle that lead to a LOT of confusing decisions, cuts, and "dead content" within the OG that the 3D remake coat of paint had no room to amend. This is NOT just a remaster.
Plus half of these games were already in development and a major point of the Sw2 is that its compatible with the same games plus more. The Sw2 isnt a hard swap console its literally designed to slowly move players up over time
Haha yeah man I wonder why nintendo was so quick to push a bunch of exclusive releases in the first couple years of the switch as opposed to the switch 2
As of right now Nintendo isn’t giving nearly enough reasons for you to own Switch 2. Comparing the first 2 years of Switch and Switch 2 is damn night and day.
I still have hope and don’t regret owning one, but man this is a pretty weak start. Still better than Wii U was I guess.
Seriously though the Wii U was a massive disaster that Nintendo was trying to scrape away and rebuild from on a completely new system. The switch 2 is literally just a performance upgrade of an already MASSIVELY successful console of course they aren't just DROPPING Sw1 support
@gillythekidYT Nah if they remake all of OoT and do nothing to actually integrate time or time puzzles into the main game outside of the second to last dungeon I'm hunting Aonuma for sport
Its like if the entire Mask mechanic of MM was strictly the Happy Mask shop in Hyrule Castle
"OcArInA oF tImE aLrEaDy HaD a ReMaKe ThOuGh"
It got one remaster on a handheld device with a 3" screen about 15 years ago
This remake is absolutely fine
@QuentinPicksMen Also even by RPG logic sure, Xenoblade is niche. But Fire Emblem? Dragon Quest? Kingdom Hearts? Final Fantasy??? Like even the "slop" of the direcr were still major titles/producers. Its not like another direct of Bravely Default or Tales Of
@QuentinPicksMen Mario And Luigi Brothership
Mario Wonder
Mario Kart WT
DK Bananza (Spiritual Oddessey)
Zelda TotK
Zelda Echoes
What more do we really need man? This isn't Pokemon where we get a new game excreted every 1-2 years. The mascot games are perfectly fine.
@LolikoHocotate I can understand wanting something different for sure. I for one was really hoping that XB trailer was gonna be X2. But the annoying voices are the ones discrediting these games for not being mascot titles
"There needed to be more!!! We got like nothing new it was such a dry direct!!!" Just say you wanted Smash 6. Just be honest with yourself. You don't have to pretend to care about Nintendo, just say you wanted the new game and we can all move on.
@LolikoHocotate Not exactly you, but there's a general air I've noticed post direct where people are stuck in this smash-like mindset of "too much anime" when Nintendo has been big with RPGs for ages now. And it makes sense when until last year Nintendo consoles couldnt run the more AAA titles.
@LolikoHocotate I can understand wanting more in terms of specific info about games but sadly thats kind of every game show
The RPG thing makes no sense because this wasnt even a bunch of random publishers, these were ALL high profile devs (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem)
@Fasol4242 Its a great game that set an incredible precedent but if OoT released any later, even if right after MM, it would be considered one of the worst and cheapest in the series.
It's the best "Zelda" game but the worst "Ocarina of Time" game, if that makes any sense
@Fasol4242 Because I would like to see this game at its full potential and not caged behind the same development hell that created a game whose sole defining feature is that "it did it first"
Hence why its important that its a remake and not a remaster like the paint coat 3DS game(s).
Could you imagine if people saw the Breath of the Wild announcement and said "well what reason do I need to buy a Switch? Im just gonna keep my Wii U and play it"
