Day 3 — #APTACSM finished out a record breaking conference with 18,000+ PTs, PTAs, and students making their way to Denver. This was a week full of great programming, networking and connections, and memories.
Thank you to all who attended! See you at APTA CSM 2021 in Orlando!
.@SeemaCMS@CMSGov The 8% cuts to PTs in the face of mounting evidence for our roles in healthy aging, fall prevention, and stark reduction in opioid exposure and overall costs is inexplicable and irresponsible. Our US citizens & publicly supported health system deserves better.
Today, I testified for HB 131 with @BillReineke in the Senate!
This legislation (which passed the House unanimously) will update the practice act for physical therapists and further promote pain management treatment without the long-term or high-dosage use of opiates.
"If sleep affects musculoskeletal pain, and we treat musculoskeletal pain, then we need to become comfortable with interventions that target sleep." -@jeffmooredpt with shout out to @KatieSleepPT@icephysio
72.5% ACL injuries in @NFL are non-contact (Johnston et al, 2018). 34/50 of these however were considered indirect contact. Don't overlook perturbation drills in your "injury prevention programs". Here are some examples you could adapt to your sport. LINK: https://t.co/UIlWnexcL5
Excited to give my in service presentation today on the importance of sleep for overall health and strategies on how to talk to patients about sleep. Thanks to @KatieSleepPT and @jbezner for the inspiration from CSM last year.
Today's landmark elimination of the hard cap is so meaningful because of what it means for our patients. Thank you to the countless APTA members who, over 2 decades, repeatedly advocated to protect our patients’ care.
79% RTS at previous level (lowest is in professionals); pitching performance decreased post Tommy John. Congrats, @PistolPeters5 - working in MLB, collecting relevant data, etc. Stoked to work w incredible past @Duke_DPT students (GB also) #FutureStars
