If the West really cared about de-escalation, they’d tell Pakistan: stop the provocation or lose IMF funds.
That alone would likely end the conflict. But they won’t, Pakistan is their tool to keep India in check. The US cares even less because Pakistan’s IMF cash indirectly circles back into buying weapons, a major chunk of which comes from them.
The global peace lobby is a farce. Not one word to the IMF. So yes, we’re on our own. But we’ll prevail.
Hi @MORTHIndia@nitin_gadkari@RtoRajkot I have applied for International driving permit on 27/1/25 with Aadhar verification. The application has no update since then. There is no customer support contact either. I travel next week, please help. Application number: 390400325
I see a lot of good work by @blrcitytraffic spreading awareness about helmets, zebra crossing etc. @BMTC_BENGALURU bus drivers also need to be educated. They drive recklessly, switch lanes like they are riding a bike and stop anywhere they please. Are we doing something about it?
@Razorpay@shashank_kr The overall experience has been bad since you don't have a helpline to connect with the support team, kindly resolve this immediately. As a non-technical person integrating a payment gateway looks like a nightmare even though we are customers for you at @Razorpay@shashank_kr
@Razorpay@shashank_kr Respected team at Razorpay, onboarding and integrating your platform has been the toughest challenge while going digital. It has been 2 weeks since we started the process. Your team is replying to the queries generated, not giving the solution to problem
A Letter To A Former Friend:
My Dear Once-Beloved,
I do not know what happened to us, apart from the now trite sounding, often overused word, "life" that must be accompanied by a shrug that is half-heartbreak, half-practised nonchalance. Once, a younger me had hoped that when a person would ask me "What's up?", I'd reply with "Life"; but that is now for another person, from another existence. I am quieter now, more measured. I walk with care, like someone navigating a chessboard, making sure to step only inside the black boxes, and never on the lines.
I don't know what happened to us, but I am glad for whatever came before the end. I know you'll say I am dramatic to say that, but I am not. I am just someone who has accepted that closure isn't found, it's created. I am too tired of holding on to people who do not want to stay. It feels like trying to fill a bucket from the ocean with a single, feeble, cupped hand.
I have now concluded that the bucket should just be left empty and that meals for one, unspoken experiences, and a different future from the one they told us of in stories, is also fine. I have accepted that no one comes back through the stormy night, and that we rescue ourselves. I have found solace in not keeping the door open, not keeping the lights on, not laying another placemat, not living on faith.
I thought I saw you on the road the other day, by that old barber shop in your neighbourhood. You were wearing your blue-black Decathalon t-shirt that I hated so much. I whipped my head back in a flurry and looked as far back as I possibly could. The light turned green, the car moved ahead. You were a phantasm of time, or of memory.
A song played on the radio today—one that you and I loved, and out of nowhere it brought up tears. How much I miss you, or who you were. Who I was when I was with you. Do you remember how we would sing together? I tried singing the song. I remember the tune, but I have long forgotten the words.
I wonder if you are still in love with that girl you half-romanced by the metro. If your lunches have blossomed into spaces where you can laugh openly. If you got more boots and more black outfits; and if you've settled into your windowless (was it?) house. I wonder if you still like cheesecake, and are still in the pursuit of vegetarian protein sources. I wonder if you finally did fire that infuriating, if resourceful, junior. I wonder if you are still annoyed by traffic. I wonder if you sink into someone's arms now, every night.
I almost think of you as a character from a once-beloved book—your existence like memories of familiar words: so far, yet so close. I often wonder why everything and everyone I love goes to that very same city to leave me. But then this phenomenon explains why I too, left that city.
Someone mentioned you in passing the other day, and my ears pricked up. They said you'd gone to so-and-so place, far North of the equator. I couldn't gather whether you were there for work or pleasure, but I hope, nevertheless, you are having a good time. Foreign travel is always both terrifying and revealing—of the world, of oneself. And then, it is the one place where pretending works best. A land—where you don't know the people, or the language. Where everything is new, and everyone is a stranger, and you can pretend, in the temperate sunlight that you too are new and different. Where a tap of your finger can erase all the ghosts, all the baggage of the past.
After all, solitude, grief and nostalgia have a single, wonderful cure—pretence. Sounds heartbreaking, but you know as well as me that there is no other escape. When the tears come and you cry and cry and cry, there is a second in the twelfth moment where you realise that nothing can possibly be done about these tears. That no matter how much you cry everything is futile. So you go from crying one second, to methodically wiping your tears, easing your face, tying your hair, retrieving a cup, some milk, some sugar, opening the microwave, even playing some music—because what else is even to be done? Tears or not, life does go on.
I strikes me as incredible that so much is written and filmed about losing love, but not losing friends, or the lovers who were best friends, because life seems to be scattered with this very real, very gutting loss. The loss of blood-and-flesh people whose voices once warmed your phone; clicking on whose names now just open chat boxes where cursors blink and nothing remains to be said. I
s death silence?
For many months after I told myself you'd left, I wondered if you too were feeling all of this. Or, rather resentfully, if I was easy to forget? How silly, how sweet. As if you hurting, your heart aching would be some small retribution for this tiny heart.
"You never run into those who are no longer in your life, even if they live in the same neighbourhood," said a Tweet I read today. "It means they are no longer a part of your life path." I do not know if this is the truth, but I do hope, anyway, that were we to meet, you'd stop.
That despite the new hair, and the new glasses, inside the worn skin, you'd recognise the old me, and I the old you. That we'd sit together, a moment, and travel back to the past.
Take care,
Your Once Friend.
@Swiggy@SwiggyCares@Oven_Story wtf are you doing, I'm sharing a video of a Non-Veg pizza with wrong label and wrong packaging which was consumed by a 100% vegetarian because of this blunder, this is not acceptable kindly let me know what is to be done next
Today is a dark day for India Internet.
