Wes Streeting says these local elections have nothing to do with Palestine. With £12bn of council pension funds invested in companies complicit in Israel's crimes, we beg to differ.
That's why every single one of the candidates we're backing will divest from Israeli apartheid.
Keir Starmer doesn't want us marching for Palestine. @wesstreeting doesn't even want us talking about it.
Tough luck. We will keep fighting Israel's genocide, from the streets to the council chamber.
On May 7, vote for Palestine. And on May 16, we march for Nakba Day!

As a candidate in the local elections in Milkstone and Deeplish I am proud to sign the candidate pledge to Palestine today.
As a councillor, I will take all appropriate steps to:
Uphold the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
Support efforts to prevent, and ensure accountability for, Israel’s crimes of genocide, military occupation, ethnic cleansing and apartheid.
Ensure my council is not complicit in and does not help to normalise Israel’s violations of international law, including through the council divesting pensions and any other funds it administers from complicit companies and through its procurement policies.

The establishment will use the Gordon & Denton by-election result to convince you that clarifying a candidate’s position on Palestine is sectarian voting. Don’t let them. The British public has shown that it is overwhelmingly against genocide regardless of religion or ethnicity.
