The polls just closed here in New Hanover County! It's been an incredible journey becoming a Write In Candidate just a few short months ago. Thanks to all of you who have voiced support and said No to Deb Butler and YES to Write In WALLACE WEST. It's time to watch the results! THANK YOU!
Greetings friends, supporters, prayer warriors, volunteers, voters; any and everyone who supported my campaign for NC House. I am indebted first of all to God, my lovely wife, Gail, my family and to each of you for without your participation we would not have been as successful as we were. While statistically we faced an uphill battle with a strong headwind from the start, I remain confident that God called us to this task for a greater purpose yet to be revealed.
As of this moment, there still remains 3500-4000 uncounted Mail-In and Provisional Ballots plus at our request a visual recount of the write-in votes. The Unofficial Vote Count reports 6869 votes cast in my favor representing 17.6% of the votes count. An exceptional feat given the norm for a write-in candidate is less than 5%. We may very well pick up additional votes in the
recount and and from the ballots yet to be counted. Who knows but we might reach 20% of the vote. 😀
Words cannot express my gratitude to our financial supporters and for the dedication and commitment of our volunteer and prayer team, many of whom worked tirelessly right up to the
end. A special shoutout to my Campaign Manager, Suzie McCullough, and her husband, John, who together with Suzie managed our social media campaign messaging, and to my lovely bride who campaigned relentlessly alongside me.
God called us to a Gideon sized task, raised you up as our army and equipped us such that
through our faithfulness, WE FINISHED WELL the task that he called us to do and in so doing gave Him the victory. Stay tuned for 2026.
Best!
Wallace
Great turnout today! Remember, Say No to Deb Butler and YES to Write In WALLACE WEST!! All the polling places were packed. Thanks for coming out to vote and your patience today! It was great to meet so many of you.
Earlier today, Port City Daily posted on Facebook statements about several candidates for political office in this election cycle. In the post on Deb Butler, it was reported that she is running unopposed for NC House of Representatives District 18, which is not accurate. Although my name is not printed on the ballot, I am qualified with the New Hanover County Board of Elections (NHCBOE) and the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBOE) to run for the NC House of Representatives District 18 seat as a Write-In Candidate. My Campaign is no less legitimate than those whose names are printed on the ballot. This is further validated by the fact a line is provided for that purpose under Deb Butler’s name on the official election ballot for the NC House of Representatives District 18 seat.
For the record, one has to qualify with its local board of elections through a petition and administrative process. Once qualified by the NHCBOE, one then must satisfy the requirements of the NCSBOE that any candidate for elected office must complete in order to qualify to run for state office.

We had a wonderful evening with Dr. Carol Swain. She is a wonderful woman and her life story is incredibly inspriational. From abject poverty to a highly educated thought leader and follower of Jesus Christ. If you ever get the opportunity to hear her speak go and see her.
