Strong gusty winds are expected across the area tomorrow with gusts to around 45-50 mph possible at times. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the entire area. Prepare now by securing any loose objects.

Debris from tornadoes turns into deadly projectiles which causes injuries and deaths during tornadoes. Taking shelter quickly when a warning is issued remains critical to preventing causalities along with other protective measures such as laying low to the ground.

Tornadoes are most common in this area during the months of April and May. However, the fall and winter months are also a time when we can see strong to violent tornadoes. These graphs show our past history of EF2 and stronger tornadoes.

Two rounds of severe storms are possible for our region. The first one may impact northern portions of the region after 7 PM this evening. The second round is a line of storms expected to move NW to SE across much of the area overnight.

There is an enhanced risk for severe storms across portions of the region. Severe storms are possible anywhere from 7 PM to 5 AM from northwest to southeast. Damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes are all possible with these storms.

Evansville, IN broke their January lowest barometric pressure record today. They got down to a pressure of 985.7 mb at 1 pm this afternoon. The previous record was 987.7 mb on January 10th, 1975.
