After months of rehabilitation and hard work, I am back in the office, stronger and healthier than I have been in years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to my patient customers for waiting so long!
This photo is from a shoot saying no to type 2 diabetes, something @RetroRGB strongly opposes.. ..Clearly..
Fair enough. I appreciate the response, and I’m willing to take a look at the ShockLine lineup.
Just to be clear, though: I’m happy to independently evaluate finished products and publish what I find, good or bad. I’m not volunteering as an unpaid engineer, consultant, or extension of Hyperkin’s QA department.
If you’re confident in the design, send me retail-representative units and I’ll examine them on their merits. No promises about the outcome, and I’ll disclose that the units were provided by Hyperkin.
If they’re well engineered, I’ll say so. If I find problems, I’ll say that too. That seems fair to everyone.
Friends, please RT this. People need to see it.
Hyperkin previously sold a TG16/PCE AV adapter that omitted proper output buffering/conditioning and essentially connected expansion-bus signals straight to consumer equipment. When I publicly demonstrated the problem, Hyperkin admitted that keeping the design “as basic as it gets” was a calculated decision.
Now they’re selling power supplies.
Power is the LAST place you cheap out, cut corners, or accept “good enough” engineering. Get voltage regulation, protection, polarity, filtering, or transient behavior wrong and you’re no longer talking about a bad picture or flaky controller. You can damage irreplaceable hardware.
I cannot tell anyone this new product is unsafe without testing it. But given my documented experience with their engineering decisions, I would not connect one to ANY console I care about.
Old hardware deserves properly engineered power. Please spread this around.

ShockLine replaces the original power supply on your retro systems with a standard USB-C setup, so instead of hunting down a discontinued OEM brick or dealing with a frayed cord that's one bad connection away from dying, you can charge with the USB-C bricks you already own from your phone, laptop, or Switch.
One connector standard, your whole collection. N64. NES, SNES, Super Famicom, Famicom, and Genesis. GameCube. Game Boy Advance SP and DS. 3DS, 2DS, and DSi. Five kits, one simplified way to power everything you play.
It also solves the space problem nobody talks about. Original console power supplies are often massive wall warts that block out a second outlet on your power strip. Swap it for a compact USB-C brick and get that space back.
Built with flexible, kink-resistant cabling and (on the handheld kits) built-in overcharge protection, so your system stays powered without the wear and tear that comes with old, worn-out originals.
ShockLine. Modern power for the classics you never stopped playing.

It's FINALLY time for another N64 Renaissance drop!
Mark your calendars 📆📆📆 for Friday September 11th at Noon CST!!
V4 sticks, bowls, & gates will be back… plus I’ve got a surprise part joining the drop that I’m not ready to spoil just yet 👀
@TerryJPatsFan12 I HAVE tested a prototype, and it's extremely well designed. There are a lot of nice safety provisions and I can't think of anything else that comes close to this.
RT’ing this again because I genuinely think RetroTap may be the most important retro hardware release of 2026. It fixes the ugly mess of aging power bricks and cables for damn near every console with one clean, well-built solution. If you buy one thing this year, buy this.
I'm happy to announce the RetroTap will be releasing on September 3rd.
RetroTap is a 9V & 5V power distribution system that powers up to 11 retro gaming consoles, compatible with 45+. It replaces aging, bulky wall warts with a simplified, modern, central power solution.

$230 for what's arguably the best analog video scaler ever produced. The quality and polish in both the hardware and firmware is unmatched.
