Chair Madlanga had that smile the first time Joe Sibanyoni came with Advocate Shaun Abrahams as his Counsel to the Commission. They knew each other from Chair's days at the Constitutional Court. 😊 Chair's Judgement removed him as the National Director of Public Prosecutions.

✅️ Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga is the one who wrote and delivered the Constitutional Court Judgement in 2018, that declared the appointment of Adv. Abrahams as NDPP, replacing Adv. Mxolisi Nxasana, as invalid and unconstitutional.

✅️ Madlanga ruled that former President Jacob Zuma abused his powers by "buying out" Nxasana with a R17.1 million golden handshake payout, and employed Abrahams.

✅️ Madlanga also ruled that Nxasana's removal was unlawful, and no genuine vacancy existed to be filled by Abrahams. He was instead a beneficiary of abuse of power. He was ordered to vacate the position immediately.

✅️ Nxasana was not reinstated, since the environment was deemed chaotic. He was however ordered to pay the R17.1 million, minus tax.

✅️ The Presidency was given 90 days by the court to appoint the new NDPP.

So Chair looked at him and was like ohk, this is you Counsel. 😅

Police have issued this photo of Hlengiwe Buthelezi. #SABCNews understands that Buthelezi is wanted in relation to Warrick "DJ Warras" Stock's murder on 16 December 2025.
I understand this to be the girlfriend of Victor Majola (the man police say was the orchestrator of the assasination).
Remember during Majola's bail application which was denied, police had said that Buthelezi (pictured) allegedly sent to Majola's phone personal details of Warras and his partner. Buthelezi is believed to have stayed in that building where Warras was killed.
Co-accused Armindo Pacula pleaded guilty some weeks ago to being the gunman in the murder for R25 000. He has been sentenced already.
