■ At a Portfolio Committee meeting in March 2025, once Mchunu denied knowing Mogotsi and dismissed Gen Mkhwanazi's concerns as an exaggeration, that was it.

The entire Portfolio Committee failed to pursue Mkhwanazi's concerns any further or seek more detailed information from him AFTER the meeting.

So my question is this: can we agree that #Parliament has no effective internal controls to identify, from Portfolio Committee Minutes, which matters are urgent and require immediate follow-up and which ones are not?

This rigid way of doing things is not necessarily anyone's fault.

It is simply an old system that has been slow to evolve, hence turaround time is so snail-paced.

We understand that.

But we also expect younger leaders, such as @IanCameron23, to champion reforms in specific areas, modernise Parliament's oversight processes and improve the turnaround time for escalating and acting on critical issues like the ones raised in March 2025.

As a concerned citizen, I played mybpart, wrote to the Speaker of Parliament in September 2025 proposing a set of reforms on how matters arising from Portfolio Committee meetings should be escalated to the Office of the Speaker, or whichever office is responsible for ensuring appropriate action is taken.

They acknowledged receipt of my six-page proposal and indicated that it would be forwarded to the relevant office.

A waitress at The Cosmopolitan Lounge in Maboneng; Johannesburg is seeking assistance with locating Pamela Anderson.

Pamela Anderson visited the establishment and racked up a bill of R5940, and when it was time to settle the bill the overworked waitress charged Pamela Anderson R594 on speed point instead of R5940.

The now distressed and soon to be out of work waitress has been appealing to Pamela Anderson to settle the balance or at least make arrangements with management so she can at least keep her job.
