This was weirdly hard.
@truedialogue I should do this more often. I'm good at drawing, but often end up with a distorted sense of times and distances because I can't relate my pretty maps to reality. Even with scale lines.

I research as I go, because you never know when some little element of your world building will avalanche into a major plot mechanic ๐
I'll leave some for later, the stuff I know will have minimal impact on my cause/effect threads.

Ghoul and gargoyle folklore, Blue mountains flora/fauna, fortification architecture, viruses, subterranea, cults, pre-mill logging practices, and a thousand other things that I probably didn't *need* to know. (But I needed to know!)

All of Terry Pratchett. A handful of classics, like Dickens, Austen, Tolstoy, etc. All of PG Wodehouse (especially the Bertie books) at least five times. And I've just started rereading the epic fantasy I loved as a kid: Kate Forsyth, Robin Hobb, Sara Douglass, etc
