LLMs struggle to handle relational kind of problems because just two interacting systems have a quadratic complexity O(n^2) which is prohibitively large to collect all training data for such interactions.

If it's not in the dataset LLMs will struggle making connections.

Knowledge is a set of facts & insights about some phenomena which help explain how, when or why a phenomena happens like a set of facts about gravity, the equations etc

Humans came up with physics, LLMs don't build such facts & insights, they just regurgitate whats out there.

Language models only model statistically how words written by humans appear in groups.

LLMs don't have deeper understanding of what humans write about.

I don't know why it's so difficult for some people to wrap their heads around that.
