Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries:
"It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.
"There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion.
"If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That's why you should always have a nutrition choice!
"Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."
@XCoolBud @futurepr00f63@fiagirly If Lewis pits, Max stays out and Lewis loses track position. If they follow the rules, race finishes behind sc and Max is champ. Staying out was the right move for Mercedes.
Thereโs a strong case to be made that Al Pacinoโs performance in The Godfather: Part 2 is the greatest on-screen performance by an actor ever. Pacino once famously said of his performance โI found someone- a place to go to.โ The Godfather is a story that belongs to Michael Corleone, which gave Pacino so much emotional ground to cover as he transforms into a cold, isolated monarch by the end of the second film. Pacino kills with his eyes: he barely needs to speak to flex his power or convey an emotion. Itโs as good as acting gets.
That person at the party who says we've met before though you don't remember but he reminds you it was at your house in fact he's there right now which is fucking crazy man so he gives you his phone & tells you to dial your number and you hear his voice say I told you I was here
@BuggyWhipFH A healthy Rafa could have won all four this year. It's a shame really. But let's not forget that he caught a few breaks as well, like vs Shapo at AO or vs Zverev at RG.
@BuggyWhipFH Don't think it's comparable just by the size, location of the tear is important too. Don't remember Novak having trouble serving AO 2021, but I might be wrong.
Tbh there is no way he beats Djokovic without a serve + weakened bh :(
