The legendary founder of Nickelodeon, Dr. Vivian Horner passed away 4 years ago at age 88 🕊️

Before the orange splat, before Nicktoons, before Rugrats, SpongeBob, Avatar or The Fairly OddParents, there was Dr. Vivian Horner and a radical idea: children deserved a television channel built specifically for them.

An educator and former research director for The Electric Company, Horner helped develop Pinwheel for Warner Cable’s experimental QUBE system in 1977. Its success became the foundation for something much bigger, and Horner conceived the children’s network that launched nationally as Nickelodeon on April 1, 1979.

Although she didn’t create the famous Nick shows that followed decades later. Her contribution was more fundamental: she helped create the place where generations of those shows could eventually exist.

Millions remember Nickelodeon as part of childhood. Vivian Horner helped make that childhood institution possible.

Jalen Duren's agent is Chafie Fields, who also represents Tari Eason - who infamously rejected the Rockets' offer of $100 million and bet on himself. Ended up losing him around 20 million.

Duren should do the smart thing and fire the agent, sign the $190 mil extension, and go play Pistons basketball. $10 million dollars is obviously a lot of money, but it's really nothing in the NBA. He has 0 leverage - taking the QO and threatening to sign with the Kings next year is just.. poor management by his agent. Not only would it not benefit him financially (debatable) but it would be too risky for him. What if he gets a down year? What if he gets injured? What if the Pistons play Reed more? What if he has another bad playoffs performance? Too many questions.

Duren is still a top 10 center in the league with crazy upside. Not a part of the "f JD trade him" crowd. But this is getting way too distracting. JD, please take the guaranteed money and leads us again alongside Cade. 🙏
