Got students who need some help tracking assignments? I created a digital student Kanban board in Google Sheets to help Ss track assignments. It's free - just copy into your drive. https://t.co/FeVHjUIuIJ #edtech#gtchat#GoogleEDU
If your students are taking an AP class and wondering what's happening next, you might not have seen the latest update from the College Board. https://t.co/GyysWjQPKV
Every student deserves the opportunity to go to school each day and learn something new. #Gifted isn't better, it's different. Different needs require different approaches. We'll be back with a different approach next session.
Thank you for your messages and calls to #waleg last week. Unfortunately, our bill did not receive a vote in the Senate this session and will not advance to the House.
We remain committed to the work of ensuring equitable access to highly capable services.
.@SenMarkoLiias Please bring SSB 5354 to a vote. It will mandate universal screening for highly capable services, a practice recognized as a gold standard to increase equity. Both the WSPTA and the WEA have passed resolutions supporting universal screening. #waedu#waleg
Gifted Ed Day 2020, advocacy in action. Representatives from @NAGCGIFTED@WAGifted@NWGCA@waetag and @waOSPI are here in Olympia meeting with WA Legislators, parents and students.
We're in Olympia for #Gifted Education Day, but you don't have to be in the room where it happens to have a voice. We'll be providing many opportunities for you to contact the #waleg to call for actions that support equitable access to highly capable services.
We hope that you'll be able to join us on January 31st in Olympia for Gifted Education Day to add your voice to the chorus for universal screening. https://t.co/ErnB4IZHKR
"#Gifted children have always been in our schools... Denying them educational equity while offering it to every other child with a learning difference is the ultimate example of misplaced bias" @jimdelisle3 https://t.co/hFk82Be6dY #GiftedMinds#gtchat@educationweek
@edvoters We've been working to correct that in WA for years and have made steady progress. Law now requires districts "prioritize equitable identification of low-income students." Next session, universal screening is our priority.
Did you know IEA's Gifted Resource Center contains an abundance of resources and information regarding advocacy, gifted programs and organizations, schools, scholarships, testing and counseling professionals, and the 2e learner? Check it out: https://t.co/LWN915HqTS
Gifted Education Day in Olympia will be January 31, 2020. Mark your calendars today and get ready to bring your #waedu advocacy to the #waleg. #waetag2019
Welcome to #WAETAG2019 from your partners at the Coalition and @NWGCA. Thank you for your commitment to our kids! Be sure to stop by our table to say hi and see what we have planned.
"Eliminating a [#gifted] program because it reflects gaps in our society seems both knee-jerk & self-defeating. Why not expand opportunities to get into the program instead?" https://t.co/lp3f29nvtJ #GiftedMinds#gtchat@waetag@NWGCA
