I’m not sure he can’t throw because Des calls 2 and 5 yard passes. It surely makes it look like he can’t throw. I never understood why we’re not looking past the first down marker on third down. Instead, we call the 2 yard pass when we need 6 yards. Run it and pass down the field. It’s not that hard. If he’s passing down the field and can’t make a throw, then I’ll make the assumption that he can’t throw. Des isn’t doing him any favors.
UVA is a 10 point favorite at a neutral site for a reason. They are scary good on both offense and defense. They took care of business last game the first two quarters before putting in 2nd, 3rd, and yes 4th string players. I’m not comparing Norfolk State to WVU, but if you’re looking at padded numbers (or not so much) as a reason why WVU would win, you’re mistaken.
Beau Pribula just had one of the cleanest Week 1 starts in the country.
9-of-11, 155 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs (14.1 YPA, 260 passer rating).
Then he added 15 carries for 110 yards.
265 total yards. Zero turnovers.
Virginia 34-8 over NC State.
Dual-threat efficiency + a rushing record for UVA QBs against an ACC team.
Best QB through one week. The tape and the numbers say he’s in the conversation. 🔥 They had a BYE last week. He’s poised to have a big game this Friday night.

UVA is coming off of an 11 win season. The only thing has changed is quarterback, which they did very well in the transfer portal , picking up two P4 starting quarterbacks. They are one of the oldest teams in the nation with even more experience. They even have a favorable schedule. This is definitely a 9 or 10 win team.
