Whenever you see an individual who has been an active political party member and then suddenly comes to present themselves as an independent candidate because they failed to get the card in democratic party primaries or through the executive committee vetting, know that those are the politicians who lack integrity, do not stand for something and definitely will never respect any constitution or institutional values if they do not benefit. They will now hide in ‘independent’ because their ego mattered more than collective beliefs. If you knowingly submit yourself to an unfair process, do not make noise after the unfair outcome. Challenge the unfairness before, not after it has already bitten you. That is how strong, independent institutions are built, by principle, not convenience. If you believe in a system because of shared values, you are an invaluable individual who will strengthen the same institution, but if you believe in it because of what you materially benefit from it, that is sheer manipulation and being a user.

If you have evidence that the system is rigged, your responsibility is to confront it before it rigs you or anyone else, not to take part and later cry foul, silly. To those who did not get NUP cards: respect the process you willingly submitted yourself to. Trust that it was free and fair, accept the results, and support those who won. That is the blueprint for institutional growth and harmony.

If you refuse to accept the results of the very process you joined, you hand an advantage to Museveni’s crooks in NRM by dividing the vote. And remember this: a despot like Museveni thrives on using his enemies to achieve his goals. That is why despots love elections—because they know their opponents will play by unfair rules, the outcome is already predetermined, and participation itself becomes compliance. Compliance, in turn, gives legitimacy to the unfair system.

@NIRA_Ug Why is that there is no system put in place to track status of our applications for us who registered on the new system?
Even if you go to the offices, they claim they can't track for status for those who registered on the new system and they advise to wait for a message.
