June 26 is the UN International Day in Support of Victims of Torture. As Russia holds thousands of Ukrainians captive and subjects them to torture, this date serves as a critical reminder to strengthen our unity against such acts
Second, on June 26, 1987, the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment came into effect.
Torture is not a weapon of war but a crime.
