Chairman of #Sudan's Transitional Sovereign Council, H.E. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, on Wednesday received the African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson's Special Representative for #Sudan, Ambassador Mohamed Belaiche, in Khartoum to discuss the political & security situation, AU-led mediation efforts, & the reopening of the AU Liaison Office.
Amb Belaiche conveyed the AU Commission Chairperson's commitment to continued engagement with all Sudanese stakeholders in support of an inclusive, Sudanese-owned process to restore constitutional governance & advance lasting peace & stability.

Our discussions reaffirmed the shared commitment of the African Union and The Gambia to advancing regional integration, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and supporting the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (@achpr_cadhp ), hosted by The Gambia, in fulfilling its mandate to promote and protect human rights across the continent.
