Only one week remains to apply for Individual Assistance from FEMA for Washingtonians who were affected by December's historic flooding.
To date, FEMA has approved $8.76 million for 925 applicants.
We're making historic investments in maintenance and preservation of our roads and bridges, without raising taxes.
We're committed to replacing the Interstate Bridge.
We're cutting license and permit processing times and changing the culture of state government.
Great to speak at the Washington State Building and Construction Trades Council 2026 Convention about that progress, as well as the work ahead to create jobs and support our workers.
We just raised the Pride flag in Olympia.
I want Washingtonians to know that there is zero chance we would ever bend the knee to the hate and attacks we see from Washington DC. You have my word on that.
Washington state's economy was just ranked 2nd in the country by WalletHub.
That's no surprise. We have the 9th largest economy in the nation. We dominate in space industry manufacturing. We had the largest increase in the country in requests to form new businesses.
And our state continues to grow, with U-Haul rankings showing that Washington state ranks 6th for gaining one-way movers.
We're going to keep continuing this progress by investing in our roads and bridges, building more housing, and making our tax system more fair.
In Longview today to speak with local, state, and federal officials on our response to the tank failure. I'm grateful for the strong coordination taking place. We'll be with the Longview community as long as it takes.
I encourage everyone to keep up to date at the link below.
It was a pleasure to be at Armoire yesterday with so many folks supporting women in the workplace who experience perimenopause and menopause symptoms. Thank you to everyone who does important work in this space, including our Women's Commission.
As we start our celebration of Pride Month, I'm excited to see our strong ranking and positive movement up the list in the annual LGBTQ+ Business Climate Index from Out Leadership.
Times like this, with outrageous attacks coming from the federal government, are when our commitment is tested. We're going to continue to lean into our values of inclusion for all of the people of our state.
From the report: "Washington is frequently referred to as one of the United States’ most LGBT-friendly states, and its largest city, Seattle, has a thriving LGBTQ+ community, ranked as the fifth largest in the country."
Every day in my office is Washington State Ferries Day — but we decided to make it official for their 75th anniversary.
Proud of the progress we've made, including restoring full domestic service, hiring hundreds of new deck and engine crew members, and reducing cancellations.
My prayers remain with the families of the 11 workers killed in Longview, and those injured.
I’m also thinking of the responders who, again and again, went into an extremely complex environment to ensure these families could begin to get the closure they deserve. Thank you to these heroes.
Like too many issues around women's health, we don't talk much about menopause — and certainly not from a podium with government leaders standing in support.
Menopause will affect half our population at some point in their lives. Women shouldn't have to navigate this change alone.
Today, I signed an executive order to support women in the workplace who experience perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
This will ensure my cabinet agencies have appropriate measures in place to support state employees experiencing menopause symptoms.
As Governor, my administration will be a place where workers can serve the people of Washington and know they'll be supported. We'll share this expertise and guidance with employers all across our state.
We believe this is one of the most comprehensive single pieces of policy put forward to date combining worker protections with increasing health profession education on perimenopause and menopause.
Flags are lowered starting today as we grieve with the Longview community.
Today, there is a celebration of life for Gilbert Bernal. One friend called him "one of the best people I have ever met." My prayers are with his loved ones gathering today.
I want to extend my deepest condolences to all those who have been impacted by the loss of a loved one during this extraordinarily challenging time.
Washington state is recognizing a Month of Remembrance for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People.
Working together with Tribes and the Legislature, our state has taken significant steps to address this systemic issue.
As Attorney General, my team and I implemented the MMIWP Task Force, and successfully proposed legislation creating the MMIWP Cold Case Unit to provide more resources to the investigation and prosecution of cases involving Indigenous victims. The unit obtained its first conviction in a cold case last year, bringing closure to a family that had waited nearly a decade for answers.
We also created the first-in-the-nation statewide alert system to help identify and locate missing Indigenous women and people, in partnership with Rep. Debra Lekanoff. 220 Indigenous people have been reported missing by law enforcement since we established the alert system.
The crisis is far from over. We still have work to do on this critical issue. We are committed to pursuing justice for Indigenous people and supporting efforts to bring every loved one home.
I'm grateful for the strong coordination between agencies and governments in Longview. Here's a video and transcript of today's update regarding the onsite recovery process and the ongoing mitigation of environmental impacts.

A new Disaster Assistance Center is open in Sultan in Snohomish County (today and Sat).
I appreciate FEMA and the SBA getting out into our communities to help people affected by December's historic flooding to apply for Individual Assistance and SBA loans.
12 days to apply.
Continued appreciation for the hard work of the responders. My prayers remain with the families of those lost and injured, and with the Longview community. We share your grief, and we are with you.

In light of the recent tragedy in San Diego, it's more important than ever to show that we welcome our Muslim neighbors and honor their culture and religious practice.
I'm proud that Washington state is the first state in the country to recognize Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. Eid Mubarak to Muslim Washingtonians celebrating Eid al-Adha today!
