The Washington Task Force 1 was established in 1991 and currently consists of members from 21 agencies, primarily Seattle Fire, King and Pierce Counties.
WA-TF1 has landed at @SeaTacAirport returning from #hurricaneolivia in Hawaii . We are glad to have them home. Today, equipment will be rehabilitated, re-stocked, and made available should the task force be needed on the east coast. @PierceCo

WA-TF1 has a new assignment in the Waipi'o Valley on Hawaii Island. They will complete wide area searches in hurricane affected areas. Members use GPS units to ensure accurate locations on maps for officials. @PierceCo@SeattleFire @CPFR_PIO @PierceSheriff

Washington Task Force 1 assisted with evacuations and search operations as a result of a brush fire, near Lahaina's Kauaula Valley, that led to the evacuation of more than 100 homes. The fire burned 1,500 acres before it was contained. @fema
Yesterday, WA-TF1 learned hazard & flood plain areas, coordinated w/ National Guard Maui Armory, and met local fire officials to ensure radio communications would be intact when/if needed. Canines trained to acclimate to the climate & local smells! #HurricaneLane@pierceco
