Ingrid Lindstrom, K8ZI: "I’m in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a short business trip. Delighted to take in some bird watching and a short but sunny activation. I intended to operate CW, SSB, and Digital for at least 10 QSOs each, but I didn’t have any protection for my rig and laptop as the sun came straight overhead. As such, I needed to go QRT sooner than I planned, since I sensed my laptop and rig were heating up. Still! I’m grateful to activate in a new state! US-0364, Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, is a beautiful place indeed.

W1AW/7 in Oregon and W1AW/2 in New Jersey were in my log soon after they came on the air at tonight at 0000Z. I worked both on CW but they’re spotted on SSB and FT8 too. Happy chasing!
I know you get what you pay for but I'm not trying to spend an arm and a leg. Anyone have an affordable recommendation for external speakers for a mobile setup? I know Amazon is a minefield of crap just don't want to get burned. #hamradio
The BBC has announced that its Long Wave service on 198kHz, currently transmitting BBC Radio 4, will close on 27 June 2026 at 1am BST.
The Long Wave transmitters at Droitwich in Worcestershire, Westerglen near Stirling, and Burghead overlooking the Moray Firth, will be closed that day. Together with the BBC Amateur Radio Group, we will be marking this occasion on the air and are looking for volunteers to activate a special call sign in the week leading up to and including the day of the closure.
In addition, three radio clubs have volunteered to activate special call signs to celebrate the almost-92 years of these historic transmitters on the day that they are finally turned off.

It was fun driving around northern Arizona on Friday & Saturday, playing radio from two grid lines (DM34/DM44, DM34/DM35) on Friday & at https://t.co/pdPkpx0lNX (DM34) on Saturday. QSOs from the hamfest have been uploaded to LOTW. Thanks for the contacts! Map courtesy of @aprsfi
I had some fun on the mountain with the Yaesu 817nd running on the internal battery. What a great little radio! Took a walk up to the asparagus patch and found one little stalk, it was tasty! 73
The 20m/40m homebrew dipole that @ScottDWallace#K5DSW made me works superbly. Paired with my #SOTAbeams 7000hds telescopic mast, I worked South America, Europe and Asia all weekend at home on my @IcomAmericaInc IC-7300.
Does anyone know what’s going on in Worcester right now? I just saw about 15 to 20 Mass State Police cruisers heading from 190 south to 290 west through the city.
