An effort to integrate psychology and women's basketball; moving WNBA fans and legacy media away from narratives of feelings, using facts to tell the story!
Another example of threshold #selectionbias a comparison created AFTER seeing what other players accomplished. The 200 asts is arbitrarily lowered to include PB, where #CaitlinClark had ~ 330 asts in same time frame. For more in bias in @WNBA read here! https://t.co/KESThUpjcL
@DOGGO525@LetCaitlinCook@WNBA tell me what data has been ignored? The initial comment was based on moving a variable to ensure PB is included in a measure she would otherwise NOT been part of...if the standard was 850/300 only CC would be included. It was OBVIOUSLY LOWERED to include PB.
Is this the statistical bar you are setting for applauding a "complete game"? How many 10/5/5 games have there been in history of the @WNBA? I suspect, a lot!
More is needed here to determine validity of your reporting. Considering totals/per game; @WNBA stats PB is at 6th/10th in pts, 7th/15th in assists, and 11th/14th in 3PM.
Paige doin' Paige things 🤭
Bueckers dropped a solid stat line in today's win with the @dallaswings. She put up 10 PTS, 9 REB, and 7 AST!

A commonly used and misleading post on social media is the #FalseEquivalence comparison to suggest equal weight and validity, here neglecting context between #CaitlinClark and #TraeYoung. Read more on bias in the @WNBA >>> https://t.co/KESThUpjcL
Classic #narrativebias of loaded language, unquantified generalities, and cherry-picked examples to tell a manufactured story. Article has #expectationbias implying #CaitlinClark has higher standard of behavior than other players. Read more on facts vs feelings! https://t.co/qg7HeEnCbo
As the spotlight grows brighter, so do the expectations and questions about what comes next. Clark's flopping and disrespect for the refs are not helping. https://t.co/XyUI72OZ0W
I suspect you don't like @IndianaFever#CaitlinClark for other reasons, as she's had a relatively good start to season despite last game. Classic #confirmationbias example. Read more on psychological intersection of facts and feelings in the @WNBA https://t.co/k6FFizsCUz
On ball/off ball Updates: @IndianaFever#CaitlinClark possession stats. When data normalizes look for more insight. One note, considering an Adjusted Turnover Rate (ATR) metric where TOs are analyzed from a decision making perspective, not raw totals. Stay tuned for more!
I agree. As I track on ball/off ball stats this year, a popular discussion, I am also noting the type of turnovers. Check it out! https://t.co/Lg5jL8UuKa
Everyone has flaws, but when she..not if, but when she fixes this she'll reach a completely new level.
Coaches gotta hold her more accountable, and she's got to minimize the risks slightly.
But make sure you talk about the assist totals too because they are astounding
Good analysis here. As I am focused more on the psychology and data intersection, currently tracking on ball/off ball debate. However, my early anecdotal observations do offer some concern in paint defense in the limited sample size of games! A lot of easy drives to the bucket!
A common #saliencebias reaction to headlines when there is an emotional connection. I write about the psychological intersection of facts and feelings in the @WNBA! https://t.co/KESThUpjcL
