@joshlofthus@Phil_Johnson_ How about trying to hit the gym 5 days a week, stop drinking Soylent, start protein maxxing, fat shred, lose the low T carb face, then weβll talk. Maybe then you wonβt be such a bearded church lady of the male sex.
@DefiantBaptist Than that was a total smear, 546/260.
Then effeminately lays down in post about writing his new book. π³οΈβππ³οΈβππ³οΈβπ
@ReformedGoy1689@GMRench@DeaconBok I know, back when they were still βRowdy Presbyteriansβ well before they showed they were just Jewbyterians.
How the turntables have turned!
@GuyJones1111 π―, forget to post absolute bangers or have a gd burn locked & loaded, get busy, then X refreshes & itβs forever gone & flushed into the innernet toilet never to be seen again. π
Friends, this is a difficult post to write.
I know many of you have followed my journey over these last several days. From the house church movement, to the Reformed Baptists, to Presbyterianism, Anglicanism, Rome, Islam, and finally Tibetan Buddhism, I have tried to follow truth wherever it leads.
And today, for the first time, I realized something.
Maybe the problem was never that I hadn't found the right institution.
Maybe the problem was that I kept thinking I needed one.
I have spent years allowing creeds, confessions, churches, presbyteries, bishops, popes, imams, lamas, and supposedly "objective truth" to tell me who I am.
I'm tired.
I'm tired of defending.
I'm tired of explaining.
I'm tired of having my lived experience questioned by people who think they know my journey better than I do.
So today I am choosing me.
I am deconstructing.
I know some of you will immediately ask, "But are you still a Christian?"
And I think even that question reveals how much work we still have to do.
I don't need Christianity to tell me I'm a Christian.
For the first time in my life, I am learning that my faith doesn't have to fit inside somebody else's categories. It doesn't need your confession. It doesn't need your presbytery. It doesn't need your bishop. It doesn't need Rome. It doesn't need Mecca. It doesn't need Tibet.
It just needs me.
After spending so many years desperately trying to become one with the right church, the right tradition, the right theology, and, briefly, everything, I have finally become one with myself.
And I cannot describe the freedom.
I finally feel seen.
I finally feel heard.
I finally feel safe.
I finally feel like me.
I realize this may be difficult for those of you who became Presbyterian, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Muslim, or Tibetan Buddhist based upon my recommendations earlier this week. I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused.
But I was in a different place in my journey then.
Please respect my growth.
More importantly, I hope you can find it within yourselves to celebrate my bravery. Walking away from everything you've ever believed takes tremendous courage, particularly when some of those beliefs are almost 36 hours old.
This isn't the end of my faith journey.
It's the first time the journey has truly belonged to me.
I'll be sharing more soon on my new podcast:
UNLEARNING: Finding the Courage to Question Everything
Episode One:
"I Wasn't Losing My Faith. I Was Finding Myself."
Patreon supporters will also receive my forthcoming 11-part course on the dangers of spiritual authority.
Thank you for holding space for me during this transition.
I don't know where this journey will take me next.
And for the first time in my life, I'm okay with that.
I am enough.
