In Damascus today, I met President Ahmad Al-Sharaa to discuss the rising number of Syrians returning home, the millions still displaced, and the support needed to rebuild lives after years of conflict.
A peaceful and inclusive Syria is the foundation for lasting recovery. Syrians are determined to rebuild. The international community must match that determination with sustained support, investment, and solidarity.

I saw how refugees have access to healthcare, education, and play an active part in society benefiting the whole community.

This is how we move from aid dependency to self-reliance.

Kenya is doing its part. It needs greater international support.
