School Naming Committee vote just now: the future high school at Wildcreek will be called Procter Hug. The group picked 3 options for the future career/tech school at Hug's current campus. 1st choice: Debbie Smith-24 points, 2nd: Feemster-19 pts), 3rd: Michael Landsberry-12 pts
@ddboswell Procter Hug moving to the new campus was the first choice of students. Having Debbie Smith's name on one of the buildings was second choice of the students who will be in school when these campuses open.
Tonight's the night, y'all! School Naming will pick three finalist options for the new campus at Wildcreek, and the future Career and Technical Education school at Hug's current campus. Agenda and materials here: https://t.co/ojQNSyma5N
@CoachShug It wasn't one of the names the Naming Committee picked. The discussion centered around the appropriateness of a school sharing the corporate branding of a golf course, that doesn't relate to a natural feature.
School Naming Committee meets next week to pick finalists for Wildcreek and Hug. See the agenda and packet, including the results of the survey and letters of support, here: https://t.co/JMq48TRII9
Today is the last day: rank the semi-finalist names for the new high school at Wildcreek and future Career and Technical Education (CTE) campus as Hug's existing location. Survey closes at midnight! https://t.co/uDPUajSPGb

Of the 15 schools on the WC-1 menu, three have been built, two are currently under construction, and two more are about to break ground.
Feedback requested: help us pick the name for the future high school at Wildcreek, and future career/tech school at Hug's existing campus, by ranking the semi-finalists for both: https://t.co/uDPUakaqxJ
@CoachShug Way to assume the worst, Coach. The new building will take Hug's zone, so it's fair to ask and discuss if the name should move with the students, stay at the current building, or something else. It's a community-driven process, so we're asking the community.
We're ready to start the naming for Wildcreek and the future CTE at Hug's current campus. Here's the School Naming Committee agenda and packet for next Wednesday. It's about to get real!

@pablonavaduran3 We are no longer accepting name submissions for that school. Tom Brown, the former principal at Galena? He would not have been eligible anyway - no one who is or has been employed at WCSD in the last two years can have a school named after them.
Last week, we cut the ribbon on Poulakidas ES (story in link). This week, we'll cut the last one for this year - Desert Skies MS, at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Join us! https://t.co/iu6evM9n24
Last week, we cut the first ribbon on a new school - check out this story from @KTVN. https://t.co/st1I5K99gu
Missed it? Two more schools to go - one this week, one next.
