Great to visit our latest @wealdendistrict affordable housing development in #Heathfield this afternoon working with Trinity Homes to deliver high quality, energy efficient homes in a sustainable location (and some incredible views!).
Great to visit the Iford Biodiversity Project in @LewesDC@sdnpa to hear about their pilot project with @DefraGovUK to be an exemplar landscape restoration project and what @wealdendistrict can learn for Biodiversity Net Gain
Day 3 of #LGAConf23@wealdendistrict with sessions on how to create a green economy, the use of AI in local government and the main plenary from Lib Dem leader @EdwardJDavey
Good session at #LGAConf23 today talking about the future of leisure centres, how to make them carbon net zero and hearing from Paralympic and world champs gold medal winning swimmer @alice__tai about her inspirational journey @wealdendistrict
@richclarkimages @sewateruk@Nus_Ghani@wealdendistrict More a question for @sewateruk to answer and issues are inevitably complicated but I understand their planning is based on assumptions about customer usage and currently people are using significantly more water than forecast so itโs not directly a housing growth issue
@richclarkimages @sewateruk@Nus_Ghani@wealdendistrict advise @sewateruk about the scale of growth in the District and as the water company they then factor that into their business plans to enable adequate water provision; all of which is regulated by OFWAT
Visiting a bottled water station in #Mayfield@wealdendistrict@MFAParish to see first hand how @sewateruk are ensuring bottle water is available to residents whilst they deal with the ongoing water supply problems
Great to be able to attend for @wealdendistrict the @wearenewlocal#StrongerThings conference talking about transforming systems and join and speak at a Chief Execs round table on leading in a pressurised environment led by @BarryQuirk1 & @adamjlent
Great conversation with @adamjlent @wearenewlocal today about community engagement and involvement and the power of communities to help solve tricky problems @wealdendistrict
Great to be at the @Solace_UK in the south conference hearing from headline speakers including @RobWhiteman @martinrreeves @mattprosserceo @annarandle@Voa1234 about the challenges facing local government and sharing learning across the sector @wealdendistrict
Excellent start to our new Council term with an introduction to the Council for brand new @wealdendistrict Councillors. Great to meet them and to share a snapshot of all the amazing things we do for our #wealden residents

Really good to catch up with @CCJoShiner today to talk about some of the key strategic issues impacting our respective organisations and to hear about the positive work of @sussex_police in tackling rural crimes all in the spectacular setting of @Ashdown_Forest@wealdendistrict
Helpful reminder here from @bbcsoutheast (including a brief appearance from me) about the need for photo ID at the forthcoming @wealdendistrict elections and if you donโt have a relevant form of ID, the deadline to apply for a voter authority certificate is 5pm today (25 April)
In next month's local elections, every voter attending a polling station must have a valid photo ID such as a passport or driving licence in order to cast their ballot. There are concerns the new rules will make it more difficult for people to vote. https://t.co/Gtkebx2sQk
Great initiative from @wealdendistrict in partnership with @Biffa to use HVO on all our refuse vehicles rather than diesel and reduce the carbon footprint of our refuse fleet by 90% #NetZero
We will be replacing diesel with a sustainable alternative fuel in all of its 33 waste collection and street cleansing vehicles.
We have committed funding for a large scale initial year-long trial using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO).
