St. Albert School Board has unanimously approved a new optional locally developed junior high course on 2SLGBTQIA+ perspectives.
This may well be the very first 2SLGBTQIA+ course developed and offered in Alberta's history. A truly ground-breaking moment! 🤩#abed
A championship for the WDC senior boys rugby team capped off a great 2 days. Bronze for the senior girls, and silver for both the junior boys and girls. Way to go Cru!

Division schools are closed today as we recognize the trauma of the legacy of residential schools in Canada, and honour those who died, as well as survivors, and their families. We keep them in our hearts, this day and always.
Many have heard that schools in different parts of #StAlbert are in lockdown. It is a precautionary measure, and not related to the schools… Multiple carjackings with firearm in the area… 2 in custody and 1 outstanding.
The schools and children are not at risk.
All schools have been asked by the RCMP to go into a “hold and secure” due to a situation in the community. Students will be kept safely inside their schools until the situation is resolved. More info will be provided when we receive it. Please do not go to your child’s school.
