@JimmyBRadio@VinnysCorner1 Jim, I don't think anyone was ever better than O.J. was between 1972 and 1976 (inclusive). Jim Brown's peak was similar but it lasted a bit longer.
@JimmyBRadio@OleTimeHardball Plus, Ripken broke the streak when baseball was reeling a bit from the strike from 1993-94, generating a ton of good publicity when it was needed. I'm not sure Ty Cobb needs to be on this list.
@DanKelley66 Pinella misses Remy's liner to right in 9th of 1978 playoff game, which becomes a game-winning inside the park homer. That could have happened very easily.
@SabresFunStats Burt and Goldie sent the Sabres a little plaque as a thank you for letting them come to the game. It was in the Directors' Room for quite a while, and was once used as a "generic trophy" when a real one wasn't quite ready for an on-ice presentation.
I can't say I knew until just now that Elijah Gash - who won an NLL championship with Toronto this month - was the son of former Bills' fullback (three seasons) Sam Gash. Sam once made the Pro Bowl without carrying the ball once, because his blocking was so good (1999).
