Year 5 produced incredibly writing inspired by the magical picture book - Varmints. They created vivid and exciting descriptions and were captivated by the story and its underlying meaning of taking care of our planet.

Year 5 had a visitor come in today to discuss Humanism and Humanist concepts as part of their RE topic this half term. The children asked some fabulous questions and gained some insightful knowledge on what Humanism is. #WDCEre
Year four have been thinking about habitats and how humans can impact them. We went outside to look at how our local environment has changed since the school was built. #WDCEscience
Year 2 have been inspired by the cityscapes of L.S. Lowry and contemporary artist Anna Schmidt! After learning and experimenting with shading and relief printing techniques, we have started to create our final pieces of Manchester landmarks in Anna Schmidt’s bold, textured style.
Last week, our young musicians joined pupils from MGS and primary schools across Manchester for an inspiring day of rehearsals - all leading up to a brilliant collaborative orchestra performance! Thanks to MGS for a fantastic celebration of music, teamwork and talent. #WDCEmusic
On Tuesday, Y4 had a brilliant trip into the city centre. We completed our geography enquiries and visited lots of fantastic landmarks finishing off with some time in the National Football Museum. Thank you to all the adults who made our day so successful. #WDCEgeography
Last week, Year 6 did a brilliant job leading the Manchester Cathedral Leaver's Service. They performed songs and exchanged prayers with lots of other schools in our diocese. #WDCEbelonging
Last week was Textiles Week and the whole school embraced the art of sewing and construction techniques. From puppets and pouches to toys and waistcoats it was a fantastic celebration of creativity and skill! #WDCEdt#textilesweek
Y5 really enjoyed the Blue Cross coming in to talk to them about how animals and pets can aid positive mental wellbeing. They listened really attentively and asked some fantastic insightful questions.
Year 5 have loved textiles week. We have designed and made some amazing stuffed toys using the blanket stitch to secure them. We used some decorative stitches and appliqué to decorate them too. Look at our lovely creations! #WDCEdt
Last week, Year 6 had a wonderful time completing a triathlon at Hough End Leisure Centre. The sun was shining, and everyone did an incredible job. Well done year 6! #WDCEpe
What a day at Great Science Share in Manchester! Our young scientists led their own investigation and we were blown away by the creativity and curiosity on show. Exploring other schools’ projects made it even more inspiring. Truly a great opportunity to investigate and share!

Thank you to the whole West Didsbury community for coming out in such force for Didsbury Parade. A silver shield for 2nd place was a perfect way to end the morning. Thanks to our families and staff for all the hard work making the costumes and props. They were out of this world!
