@Capt_Fishpaste Presumably to replace Mendy and perhaps with money they expect to get for him. Could be looking a bit sick tho if we crack on and sign Cannon instead!! A much better deal and I’d laugh til the tears ran down my trouser leg 🤣🤣
@JamesCopley_ Agree totally. Wasn’t it Bill Shankly who said he’d never buy a CF who was over 27/28 as by then someone else would’ve had the best of him and he’d have had the sh1t kicked out of him by big, ugly CHs? Different times though!!
@RokerReport Not just the ticket office. There’s not even a phone number for the club shop. Had there been it would recently have saved me an abortive 30 mile round trip. And beware if you’re SAFC shopping online, incredible though it might seem you can’t do exchanges at the shop!
@Capt_Fishpaste What’s the latest on Roker Roko Šimiç? Also interesting that Spurs fans hailing a £5m windfall from sale of Clarke. Do they benefit from a share of the £5m add ons, or only from the £15m basic fee? Although can’t really see David Levy missing out on his pound of flesh!
@Capt_Fishpaste We’re allegedly getting Isidor for nothing, €4m fee payable at end of loan and year’s wages paid, and if he’s played at LW which some claim is his best position rather than striker, fans need to not compare him with Clarke and give him time!!
@RokerReport Should at least hang onto him until January to see how it’s going. If all continues to go well under RLB and with the promised addition of some real firepower he could be the difference between automatic promotion and play offs.
@JamesCopley_ If medical passed and if, as rumoured, pursuit of Mendy has been abandoned, wonder if Wilson and Our Eli might form a successful partnership a la Quinn and Phillips. Mayenda deserves his chance
@Capt_Fishpaste JC to Leeds? Don’t see that as an improvement. Lot of hype about Leeds who’ve sold their best players and are rebuilding under a manager who lost a record 15 consecutive PL games. Done nothing so far. Boro exposed them as an ordinary team unlikely to achieve anything this season
@SkyBetChamp@ALS_Fanzine@WhoScored Well done Patrick Roberts being selected TWICE and in different positions for the Sky Bet Championship team of the week!!
@RokerReport So many non existent roadworks coned off or subject to temporary traffic signals in Pallion yesterday, even a no entry in place south side of new bridge, that most westbound traffic forced onto Wessington Way. Took forever to get to A19. City Council need to get a grip matchdays!
@Capt_Fishpaste@CWaters_SAFC Re phones. Anyone else find it odd and highly inconvenient club shop doesn’t have a published phone number? Enforced 30 mile round trip proved waste of time/money when shop unable to supply size of shirt I wanted. Long accepted fact more SAFC fans live outwith the city than in!
@Capt_Fishpaste Wonder if that statistic is correct for GKs? I’m always struck by the number of professional GKs you see on tv, Jordan Pickford for instance, who favour their left foot. He and others are genuinely two footed though
@JamesCopley_ Excellent result for SAFC/RLB yesterday. Particularly enjoyed Clarke’s 89’ coup de grâce. One concern. Cardiff dominated second half and as we tired made changes 60’ onward to turn game around, RLB slow to respond. Fresh Rusyn might’ve put away 67’ chance spent Mayenda missed
@JamesCopley_ Lovely memories of a lovely man and a SAFC great. Was in the Roker End when he made his debut. Watched him emerge from the tunnel run towards us then treat the crowd to several minutes of his ball juggling skills. We immediately fell in love with him! A footballer extraordinaire
@JamesCopley_ I’d have loved to be embarrassing but now physically can’t. Fond memories though of the great craic when queuing for tickets. Old home shirts have been worn and better worn so hoping I’ll have my new one for the first home game but they keep selling out so quickly online!
