The Stanley Park Rose Garden is turning 100 this month! "The garden was established in 1920 after the Kiwanis Club gave the Vancouver Park Board $3,600 to build it. Today, the garden contains 60 beds, each with between 30 to 50 rose bushes." Happy birthday! #stanleypark#bc

Stanley Park is now fully closed to vehicles as part of our ongoing effort to enable physical distancing and keep
numbers down in the park. Please abide by signage and directions from our Rangers. We encourage cyclists to use the road instead of seawall. https://t.co/tZT8KANOl0
As this beautiful photo from @Miss604 shows, it is officially Spring here in the West End! Take some time to step outside to get some fresh air and enjoy the blossoms, while keeping a distance of 2 metres between you and your fellow walkers. 🌸🌸
Vancouver's first participatory budgeting pilot process was made possible with the support of over 70 volunteers who stepped up as members of the #WEChoosePB Impact Team, developed project ideas as Project Proponents, and voting volunteers. Thanks to these incredible volunteers!
Over the past 18 months, the West End community came together to support Vancouver's first participatory budgeting process. From Jan 25 to Feb 4, over 8,500 West Enders cast their ballot in the #WEChoosePB community Vote. Today, we're excited to announce the funded projects.
@caitlinjeaneliz @CityofVancouver 4/4 Moving forward, it is our hope that participatory budgeting returns to the West End with a considerably larger pot of money to fund more projects that benefit an even greater number of West Enders.
@caitlinjeaneliz @CityofVancouver 3/4 One of the factors that our sub-committees considered in the creation of the projects was the benefit on the most number of people. That however, wasn't a factor at the time of voting.
On Saturday, February 8, the West End community came together at @GordonNHouse for the #WEChoosePB Community Celebration and Results Announcement.
On behalf of the WE Choo$e Impact Team, a warm THANK YOU to everyone who supported this pilot project!

Thank you so much, @jtvancouver. This was an incredible team effort with all of the volunteers on the @WEChoosePB and all of the other volunteers who assisted with the voting process and served on the committees that worked with @CityofVancouver staff
"This process was incredible because it brought together all of our neighbours." -- Anthony Kupferschmidt, @WestEndSeniors and @WEChoosePB Co-Chair
