In March 2025, WESM carried out a Monitoring & Evaluation Assessment exercise as part of the Biodiversity Challenge Funds funded Chia Lagoon Project. The exercise targeted 153 local community members and aimed at assessing progress made in project activities

habitat restoration, improving livelihoods and natural resources governance. Key outcomes from the exercise include increased community engagement in project activities including women and  younger adults, increased restoration activities

WESM is now calling for wildlife and landscape photos, showcasing the biodiversity of Malawi, for consideration for its 2026 calendar. Please email your submissions to Sarah at [email protected] by 15 March 2025.

2. Photos must be landscape format - not portrait.
3. Images must be in focus and with low noise.
4. JPEG, TIFF and RAW files are accepted.
5. The location of each photo must be provided.
6. Photos must be in colour - not black and white.
