@MoneroMoney All your points are good, except price is relevant.
How big would the network be and how many people would use xmr if it was $1 or 1 cent? Not very many. Price attracts users, increases use cases, liquidity and builds confidence. Price is important.
@PMDBT Hey Jerry, hope you are well. I used to have property tokens from Lofty when you first launched. User experience was very good. Didn't keep any for 2 main reasons : Tax witholding at source & owners voting to give $ to tenants, which are out of your hands.
@third_deviation@Fishdicks_Algo I hope this materializes. So far not but agreed it is early Keep in mind Stacy and others said there will only be 10B coins 1000 times in the last 5 years yet still proposed increasing total supply. I am not too ezcited about what people say as saying things are easy.
@Fishdicks_Algo@third_deviation I would rather it enter circulation slowly through supporting the network via node rewards. Not dumping on every single true believer's head at all atl. We are 98% down from ath. We are obviously not getting value here by spending foundation algo, which has a zero cost basis.
@beka_web3@Algorand Xmr is where people go for privacy, not zec. Asside from that, algo has a lot of things going for it, some of which you mention. Can you be a bull when it is guaranteed the foundation will sell any price uptick like they have done the last 100 times?
@BySignalstreet@grok Explode to the downside? I guess the good news is that it can't decrease more than 11 cents. There is no "exploding" to the downside when you are 1 inch from the floor.
Also it cannot explode to the upside until the foundation is 100% out of coins. We have a few years left.
@mrnasdog Nice start, I hope it sustains and grows. We need 1000x from here, $5M per month would be healthy and start to be enough to sustain the network and stakers.
@seawillpdx I hope you are right and they can take accountability. But recently there was a price pump and the foundation sold a ton of coins killing all of the gains. This happened after the new ceo was already in. Why would any entity buy algo until the foundation runs out of coins?
@EldarDRM It makes sense if you are only worried about funding ongoing operations instead of strategic long term growth of the ecosystem. I am worried about what happens when therebare no more coins to sell.
@davidgokhshtein Xmr keeps getting delisted from exchanges yet price and usage are stable to up. Old school coin with a very important use case that most people overlook, namely privacy that is built in. The most trusted privacy coin by far, which has the biggest network effects potential.
@gangstakitties The af has made a lot of questionable decisions in the last 7 years. But they have a new ceo, let's see how it plays out. Af has less than 10% of supply remaining, so selling will be limited going forward. Agentic payment potential is huge and algo has a shot at being a leader.
