๐During the #STI4SDG workshop in #CaboVerde, #ECBAP met with Ms. Patricia Portela de Souza, UN Resident Coordinator to advance cooperation on infrastructure quality and climate early warning systems.
๐From April 7 to 8, #ECBAP co-hosted STI4SDG Baseline Validation and Roadmap Development Workshop in Cabo Verde to promote #STI capacity building for #SIDS.
๐ง#ECBAP IPO explored smart water leakage control solutions to develop sustainable African urban water systems in #Shaoxing. Discussions with #ICSHP on African small hydropower green transition support the upcoming #NigeriaCentreOfExcellence for clean energy capacity building.
๐ At the #UNIDO#ITPO International Cooperation Roundtable on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence, #ECBAP highlighted the importance of AI global collaboration, calling for inclusive governance and capacity building for the #GlobalSouth.
๐ Through ECBAP training on AI & robotics, 140+ engineers across Africa explored how LLMs and embodied AI can transform engineering and unlock new pathways for digital capacity building.

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Engineering Capacity Building for Africa Programme (ECBAP) was held on 5 March 2026 in Jakarta, on the sidelines of World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development.
Representatives from the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), UN agencies, governments, and regional engineering organizations reviewed progress and discussed priorities for the programmeโs next phase.
