Every item has a purpose.
Every bag has a destination.
Every one ends up in the hands of someone having the worst day of their life.
Help us continue outreach efforts.

This week we had the opportunity to spend time with the incredible team at Healing Hearts Child Advocacy Center.
One thing that stuck with me was their “Button of Bravery.” It honestly brought tears to my eyes.
A child holds onto that little button as they prepare to tell one of the hardest stories they’ll ever have to tell. When they’re finished, they drop it into a shadow box as reminder that they’re not the first to walk this road, and they won’t be the last. Every button becomes part of a wall filled with courage. A wall that quietly says, “You made it through, and someone else will too.”
As someone who works with survivors and children moments like that hit differently.
Healing doesn’t happen because one organization has all the answers. It happens when organizations lock arms, trust one another, and refuse to let people fall through the cracks.
We’re grateful for the work Healing Hearts does every single day and for the opportunity to learn more about how we can better serve children and families together.
The fight isn’t just about rescuing people. It’s about making sure they have somewhere to heal afterward.
Thank you, Healing Hearts, for reminding us that courage doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes… it looks like a child holding a tiny button in their hand. ❤️
Just look at this photo.
That right there is the heart of everything we do.
Kids may not remember every conversation they have growing up. But they remember who made them feel safe. Who listened without judgment. Who believed in them. Who simply kept showing up.
Every child deserves the chance to laugh, to feel seen, and to know they matter. Every family deserves to know they don’t have to face life’s hardest moments alone.
That’s exactly why our co-founder, Jess, pours so much of herself into every child and every family we serve. Having walked through difficult seasons herself, she knows how powerful it can be when just one person takes the time to truly see you, believe in you, and remind you that you’re not alone.
That’s why We Fight Monsters exists.
We’re not just meeting immediate needs—we’re building relationships. We’re walking alongside families. We’re helping children discover that their future doesn’t have to be defined by their past, and reminding them that they’re worthy of the joyful, hope-filled life every child deserves.
If you’d like to help us continue showing up for children and families like this, you can support our mission by donating at https://t.co/9KnP89DSC6. Every gift helps us continue building relationships, creating safe spaces, and reminding people that they are never fighting alone.
And if you’re not in a position to give right now, sharing this post is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways you can help us reach more people who may need hope—or who may want to be part of bringing it to someone else.
Because every child deserves someone who believes in them.
❤️ And that’s something worth fighting for.

❤️ COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT ❤️
Meet our friend June.
Leader. Mentor. Advocate. PTSD Survivor.
And someone who has dedicated her life to helping others find healing, hope, and connection.
As we shared earlier this month, throughout PTSD Awareness Month we're committed to spreading awareness, supporting those who are struggling, and creating space for the voices of people who live with PTSD every day. We believe some of the most powerful conversations about healing come from the people who know the battle firsthand.
Today, June continues to pour into others through her work as Director of Survivor Engagement at Our Rescue, where she walks alongside survivors and helps remind people that healing is possible.
When we asked June what support and healing have looked like in her own journey, this is what she shared.
Healing is not forgetting. Healing is not pretending the past didn't happen. Healing is not waking up one day and never struggling again. Healing is learning that what happened to you does not have to define every part of your future. It is learning to carry the story differently. It is finding safety, connection, purpose, and hope in places where they may have once felt impossible. Most of all, healing is not something that can be forced. It happens through patience, support, and the freedom to move forward at your own pace. - June
Thank you, June, for trusting us with your story and for all the ways you've shown up for others over the years. Your honesty, compassion, and willingness to walk alongside those who are hurting have helped bring hope to so many.
To learn more about Our Rescue and the incredible work they are doing, be sure to check them out and show them some love. You can find them on social media at @ourrescue & online at https://t.co/JLh0WJy6pe
And to anyone reading this who may be struggling right now: we want you to know that you are seen, you are loved, and you do not have to fight alone. We remain committed to walking beside those who are hurting and helping people find their way out of the darkness—together.
❤️ Healing is possible.

Not all monsters hide under the bed.
Some hide in plain sight.
Some look like PTSD.
Some look like addiction.
Some look like trauma.
Some abuse power.
Some traffic children.
And some convince people they’re beyond saving.
We know these battles are real.
But we also know how real hope is too.
Every day, we’re choosing to fight back through rescue, advocacy, outreach, education, and by simply showing up for people when they need it most.
If you believe in our mission and are able to give, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.

And if giving isn’t possible right now, sharing our mission helps more than you know.
Most importantly, if you’re reading this and fighting your own monsters, we want you to know something:
We see you.
You matter.
And you do not have to fight alone.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.
When most people think of wounds, they think of something they can see.
A scar.
A bruise.
A broken bone.
But some of the deepest wounds don't leave visible marks.
PTSD can affect veterans, first responders, survivors of abuse, victims of violence, people who have experienced loss, childhood trauma, medical trauma, and countless others. It doesn't always look the way people expect it to look, and it doesn't feel the same for every person.
Sometimes it feels like anxiety.
Sometimes it feels like anger.
Sometimes it feels like numbness.
Sometimes it feels like isolation.
Sometimes it feels like simply trying to make it through another day.
This month, we want to help raise awareness, encourage understanding, and remind anyone struggling that they are not alone.
Healing isn't linear. It isn't easy. But it is possible.
If you know someone carrying a burden you can't see, check on them. Listen to them. Be patient with them.
And if you're carrying that burden yourself, know that your experiences are real, your struggles are valid, help is available, and we see you.
The fight isn't always visible-but that doesn't make it any less real.

A bag won’t change a life.
But what’s inside it might.
We’re launching Outreach Bags during our op. A simple drawstring bags filled with essentials, resource information, encouragement, and a reminder that someone still sees their worth.
A bottle of water.
A snack.
Hygiene items.
Resource cards.
Hope.
For someone sleeping in their car, battling addiction, escaping exploitation, or simply trying to survive another day, that bag may be the first sign that somebody cares.
We’re raising funds now to build our first round of Outreach Bags.
If you’d like to help us put hope in someone’s hands, please donate today.
Because every outreach starts with showing up.
And every bag says the same thing:
You matter.

We’ve worked in war zones.
Afghanistan.
Ukraine.
Places where violence was expected.
Places where people understood the danger because they could see it.
What shook me wasn’t finding violence overseas.
It was finding it here.
For years, the average resident of Memphis faced a homicide risk that rivaled - and during some periods exceeded - the annual fatality risk faced by American service members deployed to combat zones during the Global War on Terror.
Read that again.
Not because Memphis is a war zone.
Not because life in Memphis is the same as combat.
But because the level of violence became so normalized that most people stopped paying attention.
We’ve reached a point where children hear gunfire and keep playing.
Where overdose deaths become statistics.
Where mothers bury sons and the story disappears from the news cycle in a day or two.
And then we wonder why so many people lose hope.
The good news is that violence is not a force of nature.
It can be reduced.
Lives can be saved.
Neighborhoods can be restored.
We’ve seen it happen.
We’ve watched former drug dealers become mentors. Former addicts become leaders. Former dope houses become homes filled with recovery, purpose, and hope.
The answer isn’t simply more arrests.
And it isn’t simply more charity.
The answer is good people willing to step into hard places and stay long enough to make a difference.
The streets that need us most aren’t always overseas.
Sometimes they’re right down the road.
Watch the video.
Then ask yourself a simple question:
What would happen if more of us treated the suffering in our own communities with the same urgency we reserve for crises on the other side of the world?
PLEASE share this and send it to everyone you know!
Your value was never determined by your worst day.
Scripture says that not one sparrow falls without God noticing.
And you’re worth more than many sparrows.
So if you’re tired…
If you’re struggling…
If you’re hanging on by a thread…
Hang on.
The same God who sees the sparrow sees you too.
🖤 Matthew 10:31
“Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.”

Every sparrow deserves a soft place to land.
For so many people escaping trafficking, abuse, or domestic violence, true safety is something they’ve rarely been allowed to feel. But a safe home changes everything. It is the bridge between just getting through the day and finally beginning to heal.
That’s why we created Sparrow House.
It’s more than just a roof and four walls. It’s a place where someone can finally take a deep breath and sleep through the night without fear. It's a place to rebuild your life on your own terms.
The need for these spaces is growing every day. We are working to open more safe homes because no one should have to wonder if they will survive the night, or if anyone is looking out for them.
If you are looking for a way out of an unsafe situation, please reach out to us. You do not have to carry this alone.
If you’d like to help us build more spaces of refuge right here in Memphis, you can support our mission through the link directly below.

Yesterday almost broke me.
There is a hard truth to this work… something we are never really prepared for. We can’t control outcomes.
No matter how hard we try, how hard we fight alongside people. Prayers. Late car rides. Showing up in court.
We can’t control the outcome.
Honestly? it sucks!!
Because the reality is that most of the people we work with are fighting with every part of them just to show up. Show up sober, be present, and fight for more than just sobriety.
Fighting for yourself is hard. Especially when you can’t numb the pain anymore. When you have to face life head on.
Yesterday hurt.
But despite the outcomes we want to continue to show up. Exactly where they are. Even when the outcome isn’t what we expect. Through the good, the bad, the unexpected, and the ugly. We want to be there.
Your donations help us continue to show up. Despite the outcome.
https://t.co/aid0oM6J3F
We believe in a world where no one is left behind.
Our mission is simple: we want to help every single person we can break free from the shadows of trafficking and addiction.
But the path to freedom has a practical cost. Hope needs a ride, a safe place to sleep, and a team ready to answer the call.
When you give, you aren’t just donating—you’re providing the bridge between “trapped” and “safe.”
Right now, your impact looks like this:
• $25 provides essentials for a survivor’s first night.
• $100 covers the safe transportation that brings them home.
• $250 provides the emergency housing needed for a fresh start.
• $500 funds an entire rescue mission from start to finish.
We have the heart and the team. We just need the resources to keep moving. This week, someone is waiting for their way out—will you be the one to fund it?

Together, we change lives. ❤️
They tell you to get sober for your kids.
To be strong.
To show up.
To prove yourself.
And maybe some of that is true.
But nobody talks enough about the hard part after.
Starting over.
Alone.
No family.
No support system.
Trying to find employment…maybe for the first time ever.
Learning how to parent without numbing the bad days with a substance.
Trying to stay financially stable while the cost of everything keeps climbing higher and higher.
Recovery isn’t just “getting clean.”
It’s rebuilding an entire life from the ground up while carrying responsibilities that don’t pause just because you’re trying to heal.
Right now, we have a mom fighting for her life and for her child.
She’s done the work.
She’s completed the applications.
She’s working.
She’s showing up.
But she needs help covering daycare costs until the assistance approvals come through, so she can keep working and continue building stability for her family.
Sometimes the difference between someone making it and someone falling apart is simply having support during the hardest transition period.
If you’d like to help us bridge that gap for her and her baby, please donate.
This is what community is supposed to look like.
Let’s be her village.
https://t.co/aid0oM6J3F
You can’t always see the work that goes into a smile like this.
Healing isn’t a straight line, and it definitely isn’t always quiet. Sometimes, progress is just a genuine laugh that catches you by surprise—that split second where the world feels a little lighter than it did five minutes ago.
At We Fight Monsters, we live for these moments. They might not be “loud,” and they might not make headlines, but they are the proof that things are changing.
Small wins really do count, because enough of them eventually change everything.
#SmallWinsStillCount #WeFightMonsters #HealingInProgress #OneDayAtATime
This is exactly why we do what we do.
One of our Sparrow House graduates beat the odds. She survived trafficking, fought to get her kids back, and built a business from the ground up — completely self-sustaining.
That’s the goal.
That’s the dream.
And she did it.
Now she’s turning around to pull someone else up.
There’s a woman in our community — a mom — who is drowning. She’s been living in unsafe conditions, navigating a domestic violence situation that just came to a head, and raising the children of her daughter, who we also loved and lost.
Both of them survivors. All of them still fighting.
Our Sparrow House graduate wants to go in and do what it takes — however long it takes — to help this woman get stable, get safe, and get her home livable for those kids.
She just needs $800 to make it happen.
$800.
That’s it.
That’s fuel, a few days of supplies, and boots on the ground from someone who has been exactly where this family is standing right now.
We believe in peer support. We believe survivors heal survivors. And we believe this family deserves a fighting chance.
Can you help us get there? Drop a 💛 if you’re in, share this post, or donate at the link below. Every dollar goes directly to this mission.

Some days absolutely wreck you.
They don’t just wear you down… they rip your heart straight out of your chest.
You see her…
and you don’t just see who she is right now.
You see who she was.
You remember her sober.
You remember her strong.
You remember her walking other people through their darkest days… reminding them they were worth saving.
And now she’s the one drowning.
Now the voices are louder than the truth.
Telling her she’s not worthy.
Telling her she’s too far gone.
Telling her “tomorrow” is soon. enough.
So you sit there…
looking her in the eyes…
begging her—
“Go. Right now. I’ll take you. We can leave this second.”
You lay out every option.
You make it as easy as possible.
You fight for her in a moment she can’t fight for herself.
And she says…
“Tomorrow.”
And it wrecks you.
Because you know what “tomorrow” can cost.
You know how fast this thing takes people.
You know that sometimes tomorrow never comes.
You leave your number.
You look her in the eyes and tell her you love her. And you tell her…
“I’m ready when you are.”
And then you walk away…
praying that call comes before it’s too late.
But you also know this…
We’ll go back.
Again. And again. And again.
Until the day she says “yes”.
Help us keep going back.
Help us be ready when that “tomorrow” turns into right now.
Your support is what puts gas in the tank…
what gets us to her when she calls…
what makes sure we can get her to where there’s a bed ready…
and the basic things she’ll need when she finally chooses to start over.
Donate here: https://t.co/xH0Txq48dt
Because when she’s ready we have to be ready too!
