Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held a meeting with Ms. Anita Hirsch, the newly appointed Country Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Pakistan, to discuss strengthening collaboration on nutrition and social protection initiatives.
The discussion focused on the extension of Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP), integration plans, improving maternal and child health outcomes, enhancing awareness efforts, and identifying opportunities to further strengthen programme delivery by addressing existing gaps.
Ms. Anita Hirsch appreciated BISP’s ongoing efforts, acknowledged the leadership of Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid, and recognized the success of the Benazir Nashonuma Programme (BNP) as an impactful and scalable initiative. She expressed WFP’s willingness to work through a structured roadmap and communication plan and termed BISP a nutrition-sensitive social protection programme contributing to improved health and nutrition outcomes for women and children across Pakistan.
