@mtracey He did shoot a woman, so there's that. More likely he got interrupted before he got started. Civilian death aside, the SPVM cops probably prevented more bloodshed.
@Gina_T1 You're failing to distinguish actions of the state and actions of private citizens. It would be inappropriate for the government to mandate a public prayer for instance, but private citizens can freely express religious beliefs in a public setting. The mosque isn't the state.
@mtracey Characterizing someone as deranged can be normative standard, it's generally unacceptable to murder innocent people as a result being angry about things you have read on the internet. You seem to greatly admire this person's writings...which is questionable.
@Cory7s@mark_slapinski@politico Canada sits at about #7 now in terms of overall health and performance of our economy relative to the G20. Argentina or Turkey are probably the "worst" with Turkey's hyperinflation being in the range of 30%. Japan has the lowest growth forecast in the G20 at 0.6%.
@LepageDavid U.S. Gun Homicide rates sits at 4.5 per 100,000 people. Canada? 0.5 per 100,000 people. So, even adjusted for population it's 8 to 9 times higher in the U.S., nobody is responsibly arguing that's the rate will be zero.
@erdocmom@jasonjamesbnn Politics isn't about narrow single-issue policy domains, there's also collateral damage to letting the market "correct itself" which carries knock-on effects. If it was purely an economics thing then sure.
@sarobertson_ Pierre invents the lady because he doesn't want to denigrate the country himself, instead he places that portion on "her" shoulders while he pivots to the political rhetoric. This is the sort of nonsense that lost him the election. Negative Nancy.
