Most egregious missed call of the tournament IMO... Gibbons had it right on the call.

This is the best wrestling in the country and these split second situations ARE going to be the difference in matches and Referees are going to have to get comfortable with making them.

The 'wait to the dust settles' mentality is best for novice youth wrestling.

The way they are calling reaction time is the problem... if your hitting a whizzer (or switch, etc.) on the way to the mat... no takedown! But if you land on all 4's like this and then whizzer or whatever, you got scored on.

It's become like little kids wrestling where they wait for a 'clear call' to make a call. Until we start rewarding people that are taking risks and finishing techniques... we will see 1-1 overtime (heavyweight like) matches at all weights.

'Safe' wrestling and officiating sucks! Open up and be aggressive... that is what the sport is supposed to be about.

It seems like people are more concerned about giving up 3 than scoring three. Would love to see the shot count per match today vs previous areas.
