Hong Kong offices around the world enable transnational repression and espionage activities. @WSJopinion
"Anna Kwok, another bountied dissident, has warned that Beijing can use these diplomatic outposts to carry out transnational repression in the U.S."

It’s past time to shutdown the #HKETO in the U.S. & pass laws targeting #TransnationalRepression at both the national & state levels
Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to clock what’s happening in this absolutely wild UK TNR case
Thank you @pippaheylings for these written questions on the impact of the new proposed ILR requirements on #BNOs. @GOVUK must demonstrate their commitment to the people of #HongKong through action and ensure that BNOs remain unaffected by the proposed changes.
This new #China govt law is “shared” only by people who want to erase distinct identities. It’s an obvious violation of domestic and international #humanrights law, and of course those who object are not heard but imprisoned.
Arthur Liu on HKers in 1989: "They risked their lives, many going to the mainland to rescue wanted students & intellectuals. When we arrived in Hong Kong, they took great care of us. I will never forget the support the people of Hong Kong have given us."
📢 Hong Kong Watch is pleased to announce the appointment of @natalieben as our new Patron in 🇬🇧
We look forward to continuing working closely with you in your new role, to uphold human rights and support the #HongKong community.

If a bounty-hunted, sanctioned by Beijing, victim in an ongoing National Security Act espionage case like @finnlau_cd is made to wait interminably for a UK citizenship determination, what hope have other HK BN(O)s got?
Come on @ukhomeoffice sort it out!

Extraordinary. Having run British Steel into the ground, resulting in @GOVUK having to nationalise it (at huge public expense), Chinese owners Jinyge are demanding compensation, even rejecting a £100m offer. We should not pay these crooks a single penny.

Reporter: will you comment on #JimmyLai sentence?
Pope Leo: I cannot comment on that.
You can, @Pontifex. Your silence will not improve the situation for China's Catholics who are enduring the worst persecution since the Cultural Revolution.

The government’s indecision on Iran has left the United Kingdom weaker.
Emergency legislation should be brought forward to proscribe the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
🚨🇨🇳 Mega embassy judicial review grounds are FILED and SERVED 🚨
Govt already delayed in responding to pre-application letter demanding disclosure of various documents.

Current events in the Middle East prove the importance of the Chagos Islands for United Kingdom and our allies’ defence.
The Labour government should completely tear up its Chagos surrender bill.
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Riley Barnes highlighted the U.S. position regarding the sentencing of Kwok Yin-Sang, father of U.S.-based activist Anna Kwok.
Why has the UK government not proscribed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC are responsible for the ruthless killing of thousands of civilians in Iran during repeated crackdowns on peaceful protest. Beyond its brutal actions at home, it has supported and enabled Islamic extremist activity and instability far beyond Iran’s borders, exporting a dangerous ideology that undermines security across the Middle East and beyond.
Many of us have called, time and again, for the IRGC to be formally proscribed in the United Kingdom. Yet despite the gravity of the evidence and the growing international concern, the government has so far failed to act. The British government must show some backbone and proscribe this brutal organisation now. Proscription would send a clear and unambiguous message that we will not tolerate state-backed extremism, nor allow operatives linked to such an organisation to operate freely on our soil. Where individuals are acting on behalf of, or in support of, the IRGC in the UK, the full force of the law should apply.
At moments like this, leadership requires resolve. The government must demonstrate that it is prepared to defend our national security interests robustly and stand firmly against those who threaten the UK and our allies. Yet instead, every day that passes @Keir_Starmer shows us he is in government but not in power.
Iran is a regime that has sponsored terror around the world. It has murdered thousands of its own citizens and supports Iranian proxies operating here in the UK.
I welcome the US and Israeli attacks against this regime.
Keir Starmer should do more to proactively support our allies against this evil regime.
The British Government’s weak approach to tackling the Iranian threat to our country is shameful.
The lack of decisive action from the Foreign Secretary exposes the weakness of Keir Starmer and his Government. The Iranian regime is a threat to our country and must be treated as such.
We deplore the 8-month sentence for Kwok Yin-Sang, father of pro-democracy activist Anna Kwok, under Hong Kong’s national security ordinance. This case of transnational repression – targeting a family member of an activist abroad – highlights the erosion of freedoms in Hong Kong.
