🚨 🚨 BRAKING 🚨 🚨
We lost an American Legend and just a genuinely amazing human being in Dolly Parton
The ultimate honor I can pay is to spell your name correctly and use your correct picture. Dolly Parton certainly earned that and much, much more
@texas_gun_nut@hannahhill_sc More like a general ban unless it’s registered under the NFA. But where I’m from law enforcement generally doesn’t look to charge unless you’re doing something else unlawful or you’re a prohibited person.
@texas_gun_nut@hannahhill_sc SC does have a ban on NFA items (except AOWs), but law does say it’s legal to have them if possessed lawfully under NFA. So registered and tax stamp in hand. Though I’ll admit I’ve rarely seen prosecutions under that law unless the firearm is being used criminally.
@FALrespecter@catatonicsextoy@MutumboRumble@SwiftOnSecurity Depends on if the state allows garnishment. State in practice in does not. And debtors are allowed to exempt a large amount of property from the judgment so there’s really not much left to go after.
@zplerhop@alittleleader Frankly best part of their system, much rather have to wear the same Harry Potter robe and silly wig then be like “will the jury notice I already wore this suit?”
@SlickTweetsSC @cstegmaier But Congress is exempt from FOIA. I also think you will run into Privacy Act problems if you request documentation from a particular person. In any event you could try to FOIA a list of all persons nominated to West Point to the Department of the Army.
@SACrimDefense@MandyMatney Plus if we’re talking about actual cell site location data you can’t use a subpoena anyway. You’d have to get a search warrant under Carpenter. Same with actually accessing a physical phone under Riley.
@elizfarrell Plus a person from one state cannot buy a handgun in another state from a licensed FFL under the Gun Control Control Act of 1968. If you buy from a licensed dealer you have to buy it in your home state.
@elizfarrell It’s actually not, federal background check is destroyed 24 hours after it’s completed if the sale is approved. The only record is the ATF Form 4473 kept by the dealer (assuming you buy it from gun dealer). NC used to require a permit to buy a handgun, but not since 2023.
@missesmysteries@MPowersNorrell Depends on the level of abuse. One of SC’s fault based grounds is physical cruelty. But as it says it has to be physical abuse, and our Supreme Court says that it must rise to the level of endangering life or limb.
@elizfarrell@MandyMatney If he pled in 1999 it wasn’t a Class C felony. At that time there was no ABHAN statute. It was a 10 year common law misdemeanor. Still would have lost his federal gun rights though since it carried over a year.
