While in White Nile State, @RaoufMazou & @DrShible met with State administrative & health officials; discussed the health & basic services needs of refugees, displaced persons, host communities & non-hosting residents of the state & called for an all-encompassing health response.
In Kosti & Rabak, White Nile, @Refugees' @RaoufMazou & @WHO's @DrShible visited refugee & IDP camps where they observed massive health needs among the displaced & host communities, which is stretching the health system.
This calls for an all-inclusive integrated health response.
8.5 MT of @WHO medical supplies have reached South Kordofan's Kadugli & Dilling as part of an inter-agency convoy.
This is the first WHO shipment to reach Kadugli since December 2024 due to access blockage, leaving the population without access to lifesaving & essential medicines
Cutting down on sugar is good for your health and can help you manage your weight. But it’s best to do this without replacing sugar with non-sugar sweeteners like stevia, aspartame and saccharin.
Non-sugar sweeteners do not help with weight control in the long term. they might cause other health problems later. In fact, on the long term, these products may have potentially undesirable effects, such as an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or mortality in adults.
Millions of people across #Sudan🇸🇩 continue to need humanitarian assistance.
A joint UNHCR-@WHO mission led by @RaoufMazou & @DrShible is touring 🇸🇩, meeting with government, partners & communities to highlight the escalating health needs & optimize an integrated health response.
Heat can make people seriously ill. Knowing the signs saves lives.
⚠️Here’s what to watch out for:
Headache, dizziness, nausea, cramps, palpitations, excessive sweating or unusual tiredness.
Heat and air pollution together hit harder and for people with cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, the effects can be faster and more severe.
If you or someone you know starts to experience signs of heat stress:
❎ Slow down or stop activity, move to a cooling area, drink water. Seek help if your symptoms don’t improve.
🚨 Look for danger signs: severe headache, confusion, agitation, collapse, seizures, or not responding normally. This counts as a health emergency.
👀 If someone near you looks unwell, don’t leave them alone.
Move them to a cooling area immediately, and call for first aid or alert event staff.
🌡️ Check weather forecast and air quality levels.
