Reporters deserve more! This job is stressful, requires very odd hours, includes bizarre contracts (especially in TV), and is very skill-based. We deserve pay and recognition commensurate with the hard and important work we do.

Unionizing newsrooms matters. I started at a paper in 2017 I was making $12.26 an hour.

I have a political science degree and made 24k pre tax annually. Yes I know I picked this career, but it’s important. If you think news is getting worse ask who can afford that income.
