The first puzzle of the year has been completed! I love seeing these students in the library. They get their homework done besides enjoying puzzles. @WaucondaCUSD118
Thank you to the seniors who let me know what their favorite books during high school were. I enjoyed learning about them and watching students and staff look at the display created by Ms. Vitucci. Good luck on your next chapter! Photos provided by Herff Jones.
Here are clues to a couple of hidden locations of free books for students to find. @MindyMcGinnis will give presentations in the auditorium this Friday during 5th and 7th periods. She will sign and sell books outside the auditorium 6th and at the beginning of 8th period.
Congratulations to team Eggshells who got 1st place and to the Plot Twists who came in 2nd at the 2025 Battle of the Books competition at Lakes. I loved getting to hang out with these incredibly competitive and fun students. All of the reading and practice you did paid off!
I was told by a reliable source that the first hidden book has been found and claimed by someone who is excited to read the book. I'm happy to hear it!
Keep an eye out for future giveaways. @BulldogLife_WHS
Because we are excited that @MindyMcGinnis is coming on March 21, we are periodically hiding free copies of her books at WHS for readers to find. The clue to the hidden location on Wednesday (1/29/25) starting at 6:50 am, is in the image.
When students, who had been taking finals across from the new book display asked if they could check out books after they finished their exams, my day was made.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the library to be a part of the staff holiday photo. Have a safe and restful winter break everyone. Happy Holidays!
Congrats to the students who won week 2 of the Winter Reading Challenge. Twice as many students participated this week which is great. Staff read more minutes this week too. Combined we read more than twice the total of last week. Keep up the good work everyone!
In honor of the book Star Splitter, I "cloned" the WHS Book Club - an amazing group of students.
Thank you @mary_vitucci for helping with crafts last week. There are still a few holiday cards and glass ornaments for students to take this week.
Happy Awkward Family Photo Day from some staff members in the Staff vs. Students Winter Reading Challenge. We hope everyone has a great book to read over winter break. If you need one, please stop by the library this week.
Stop by the library this week & vote for your favorite gingerbread house. While you’re here, check out a couple of books to read over winter break so you can read a latte.
Also, it’s not too late to join the winter reading challenge. Staff is currently ahead. @WaucondaCUSD118
I felt rejuvenated after our Book Club / Battle of the Books meeting on Friday. I am grateful for the students involved in the musical who attended. They put in a very long day and I admire their dedication to Book Club and @gowhs_theatre@WaucondaCUSD118
I’m pleased by how many students like to work on puzzles for a brain break in the library. Students were invited to enter to win a new puzzle if they worked on them in October. The winner chose to share the moment with a friend who worked on puzzles with her. @WaucondaCUSD118
Thank you @mary_vitucci for helping students turn favorite books into earrings. I was impressed that one thoughtful student made earrings to give to his sister for her birthday.
