I hate that the world we live in now punishes you for defending yourself. Of course this lady loves it though. She is getting attention for it. Also a pretty shitty move to call out the difference in followers he has compared to her like that is his problem. He didn't weaponize his followers to attack her so that point makes no sense.
Im glad the 2 have seemed to have sorted out their differences but I think she is trying to use this for her own gain in a disgusting manner. On top of being upset that Hugh Laurie had the nerve to defend something. Defending something/someone/yourself needs to stop being looked at like its a bad thing.
While it’s all been rather fun, I do hope @hughlaurie takes the time to read my @unherd article (I’m sure he can stretch to a subscription).
Because while his witty riposte was genuinely amusing, one point I make in the piece is that it was shared with his 1.2 million followers on X. I have around 38,000.
That creates something of an imbalance - particularly given that the responses to my original post were overwhelmingly warm-hearted and affectionate towards the show.
The result has been some fairly horrific trolling. It turns out House fans are even more abusive than trans activists (and that’s saying something).
I have enough experience of the media to take it on the chin, as the saying goes. But someone without my background might have found the experience far more distressing.

First of all you don’t have to use the new features.
Second people who get interested in photography from using their phone will seek to get a “real” camera if they truly get passionate about it. Cameras like that don’t have features like this.
You’re allowing something to frustrate you that really shouldn’t.
the iPhone is what made me fall in love with photography.
seeing Apple double down today on gen-AI imagery and AI photo reframing sucks, but the real nightmare is potentially turning the most popular camera in the world into a slop machine.
make real things.
Do these people think that a game being on Game Pass is the same as a game selling units? Do these people not remember Tango Gameworks and Hi-Fi Rush?
By this logic Xbox could make all their games available on Game Pass but not purchasable separately and still make a profit. If you believe that you are severely lacking in the head.
This doesn’t make any sense. Sega came back by making better decisions and making actual good games. All while being multi-platform. Them leaving the console race was the best decision they made and allowed them time to get back to a good state.
Xbox should follow suit. Once they get back to a good place and show actual improvement, they could easily reenter the console market with a bang. Especially since you know PlayStation will get complacent and provide Xbox the opening they need.
I’m getting late 2000s Sega vibes from the way Xbox is moving right now. Not safe. Try anything. Whether you’re an Xbox fan or hater, a healthier more aggressive Xbox is better for the industry than them going multi plat
Xbox will never kill Gears since it’s one of their main IPs but doing this with Clockwork Revolution is a huge mistake. A brand new IP stuck on Xbox at this point in time is not gonna sell well and the layoffs or studio closure of inXile will be completely your fault and could have been easily avoided.
She is obviously paying too much attention to the very biased fanboys on Twitter that are such a small minority. These people are not gonna end up supporting Xbox enough to make a difference.
This is gonna kill this game. A brand new IP getting released only on modern day Xbox is doomed to fail and I would not be surprised to hear of the studios closure in the near future.
It is incredibly hard for studios to make profits on their games and stay open. So much so that I think the idea of exclusives in general is kinda dumb. Even more dumb if you are Xbox considering their platform is struggling to the point they have to hope the PC people show up and PC people are more than likely to wait to purchase a game. Also Xbox has been really back and forth on this topic and knowing what will or won’t be exclusive seems to be decided on a whim.
If they really wanted to go exclusive again I think they should have waited until the next consoles come out. Xbox obviously wants to show people that it can be what it once was and showing that with a new console would have made the most sense.
Yo with that buildup like the 2 week heads up & it apparently being shown in some theaters I would say that State of Play was quite disappointing. Cool we got some release dates for shit that was already announced. Show us some cool shit that wasn’t previously announced.
Legitimately excited for this. The OpenDots One are genuinely the best open headphones I have ever used and I love them. Seeing @ShokzUSA continuing the line makes me really happy. Excited to see what else they have up their sleeve.
I feel like you have to be dense to think this will be “huge for X”. First of all, it’s Twitter. I don’t know what this X shit is all about. Also, this feature just shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Twitter as a whole and how it works and how and why people use this platform in the first place.
Boycotting a company until they make the specific thing you want is more likely to lead to layoffs or full studio closure. In all likelihood Sony is more likely to close Bungie and IF they decided to make Destiny 3 would pawn it off onto another studio. Is that what you want? a Destiny game not even made by Bungie? To me that would seem to defeat the purpose.
"I want Destiny 3... and Marathon if I have to f*cking bury you myself to send that message, I shall. I will do everything I can to destroy you, piss on your corpse, and light you on fire"
Aztecross is seemingly boycotting Marathon and Sony after Destiny 3 being shelved💀
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight:
Finished this the other day, and I’m pretty happy to report that this is quite good. From a gameplay perspective, you can pretty much expect a Batman Arkham series experience with almost identical combat and things like Riddler challenges (as well as many other things) scattered throughout Gotham.
Where the game stands out is obviously going to be the whole Lego aesthetic. If you have played a Lego game before, I think you will kind of know what to expect in terms of its writing and comedy. I do have to say though that the writing is pretty clever in terms of how they incorporate story elements from pretty much every Batman movie/medium. The obvious ones are obviously going to be Nolan’s Batman universe and the most recent Reeves Batman film. Even in side activities, you can find clever ways for characters like Condiment King to make an appearance.
The game also includes many things that encourage multiple replays and doing as much side stuff as you can. There are tons of costumes and vehicles to unlock as well as furniture that you can use to decorate the Bat Cave if that is something you are into. All of which doesn’t require any microtransactions or anything like that to get or to even make them easier to get.
There are a lot of different characters to play as. The main ones being Batman, Catwoman, Robin, & Batgirl. There are 2 others that I won’t spoil, but all characters play more or less the same but have abilities/gadgets that make each one useful in certain situations. They also have their own unique animations for just about everything, so even though they pretty much play the same from a control perspective, they are visually all different.
I overall don’t really have many complaints with the game. I feel like it delivers on what it promised. Nothing more, nothing less. I feel like in the Arkham games, Batman has pretty much all the abilities himself that this game forces onto other characters, but it works as a decent excuse to allow you to play as other characters as well as making the game compatible with co-op.
Overall, I very much think the game is worth buying and worth a full price if you don’t want to wait for a sale.
EDIT: The second picture is mainly to show my completion time and overall collection of things playing the game largely straightforwardly and leaving all the extra stuff for afterwards. That’s just how I like to play these games. Also, I chose Classic difficulty because it was described as the classic Lego experience, so I just figured that was what the devs intended.
In all reality, it would be cool if Apple made this customizable, like being able to put Control Center on the left and Notification Center on the right, but we all know Apple isn’t the biggest fan of features like that.
As a left-handed person, this is perfectly fine for me. I typically end up pulling the Notification Center from the top left anyway because of being left-handed and the natural movement of my hand while holding my phone. I’m sorry, righties, but also suck it.
This part is gonna make people SO MAD
"The second method is entirely new: Apple plans to let users swipe down from the top center of the iPhone anywhere in the system to launch a new Search or Ask interface. (The Notification Center can now be opened by swiping down from the top left.)"
I don’t blame Valve whatsoever but the Steam Machine is cooked. It’s gonna be so overpriced. Gaming in general is just at a point i dont wanna pay for it anymore. The price is getting higher than my overall love of it.
Copyright sucks. 15 hours of livestream muted / demonetised because of ~5 minutes of licensed music. Whoever thought this is fair is out of their mind.
Strange of @007GameIOI to promote streamers so much but not have a streamer mode option or even a warning about this though.
