In the WISRD lab, Canada and Kezie tested the headset on two participants, including Canada herself. The experiment was effective, as both participants took a stress test. Furthermore, these tests will be used to observe how growth mindsets function under different circumstances.
The freshwater tank is getting some new friends! Today we have assassin snails, a pygmy cory, red wag platys, pom pom crabs, and a crawfish that are currently being acclimated for addition to the tank. #WISRD#STEM#freshwater#fish#aquatic

Most people know now that atoms are made of protons, neutrons, and electrons but what are they made of and where did they come from? The Cosmic Ray Group is investing high energy muons that could help us understand these questions.
In the Physiology group, Canada and Honor determined whether students had a growth or fixed mindset through a form based around PALS manual. Furthermore they will continue this experiment by testing the Emotiv + headset on students, receiving additional insight on these mindsets.
The Physiology Group has received results from the survey we sent out to the high school. We have analyzed around 40 responses to identify growth vs fixed mindsets. Next, we will look at the participants stress and see how it corresponds with their EEG waves. #stress#brain
WISRD's Radio Astronomy Group has built and set up a new radio telescope. This telescope will be kept for in lab use and to demonstrate the inner workings of the radio telescopes collecting data at WISRD's observatory. #WISRD#STEM#astronomy#science
WISRD's Prosthetic Group were able to use Arduino myoware EMG sensors to get a read on muscle contractions in the forearm of a user. Using the Arduino software to code the movement, the read on the graph shows a spike in movements involving flexing certain muscles (i.e. biceps).
