Former professional boxer Prichard Colón has died at 33, more than a decade after suffering a traumatic brain injury in the ring.
Colón was once one of boxing’s top rising prospects, building an undefeated 16-0 record with 13 knockouts. His career changed after a 2015 fight against Terrel Williams, when he suffered a brain injury and later spent 221 days in a coma. He required around-the-clock care for the rest of his life.
Rest in peace to a fighter 🕊️
11 years of fighting like a true champion receiving the unconditional love from your mother Nieves, your dad and the so many friends who cared for Prichard Colon you will never be forgotten
The boxing world mourns the loss of Prichard Colón. 🕊️🥊
A true warrior whose strength touched and inspired so many. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.
Descansa en Paz, Campeón. 🙏
It’s actually really frustrating being Mexican American and having to hear from my own blood and people giving me shit. Leave me alone. I’m here representing fighting and enjoying my culture. USA is my where I was born and Mexico is running thru my blood.
Nothing you say “no sabo” he don’t speak Spanish” is going to change the facts
Tonight I am here where I’m supposed to be in my beautiful Island with my people celebrating and watching with awe how well Benito represented us and our culture
I am proud to be Puerto Rican, and I am proud to be an American citizen. Puerto Ricans are not “fake Americans.” We are citizens who have contributed to this country in every field, from military service to sports, business, science, and the arts, and our identity and citizenship deserve respect.
I would not have the opportunities I have today without the support and belief that Most Valuable Promotions and Jake Paul showed in me, and I will always be grateful for the role they have played in helping change my life and in elevating women’s boxing. At the same time, I want to be clear: I do not agree with statements that question the legitimacy or identity of Puerto Rican people, and I cannot support that characterization. It is wrong.
I fight with the pride of Puerto Rico and represent my flag every time I step into the ring. I will always stand with my people, with respect for who we are, and with pride in where we come from.
I will never change and will forever be a Proud Boricua.
Kanye West says he can't be controlled because he hasn't killed anyone..
"They can control Shaq, Charles Barkley, LeBron James, Jay-Z & Beyoncé but they can’t control me. [...] My mama was sacrificed. [...] In Hollywood, a lot of people come up missing. They wanna monetize & traumatize."
So there it is, nobody can disregard these things as a conspiracy theory anymore. Satanic Hollywood is crumbing from the top down.
