Today, Ontario NDP Deputy Leader Sol Mamakwa was removed from the legislature for his opposition to Bill 5.

He was removed for saying the Premier was telling "untruths" about respecting the duty to consult.

Since Bill 5 was announced, First Nations leaders have been sounding the alarm about the dangers of this Bill.

If brought into law, it would create "Special Economic Zones" that would give the government the power to override any law it wants, including the duty to consult.

If the Premier did in fact respect treaty rights and the duty to consult, he would know and do better.

He would consult and bring First Nations leaders to the table **before** proposing new legislation, not after.

Simply put, Bill 5 is severely flawed. It's Trump-Style Politics, Ford-Stye Power Grab, and it's got to go.
